Samurai Showdown is cutdown - great game but this is a pretty shoddy port.  All the sprites are shrink down to the point where this feels like Samurai Showdown kids.  I remember playing the Genesis version with friends and having a blast.  That version is a step down from the arcade as well but it is one of the times when Genny got the better port.

Completed Kirby avalanche, I beat that one monthly, sometimes weekly. Took out ultimate mortal Kombat  3, also knocked off Mario early years fun with letters. I did not have fun with letters. Kirby avalanche is my favorite puzzle game.

I've beat more games this week than I did all of last year. I'd like to see us complete at least half the snes library this year.

I just started Romance of the Three Kingdoms II. Is it weird that I'm playing two Koei strategy games at the same time?

Anyway, I started on Scenario 1 because I kind of like the chaotic start...every game plays out completely differently when you start on the first scenario. Anyway, I managed to get Gongsun Zan to submit to my rule, marking the first time that I have successfully caused another ruler to join me. I've also eliminated Yuan Shao's forces with a minimum of effort (150 soldiers managed to take out his 1000+ soldier army...I rewarded his ineptitude by killing his sons along with him after my victory). I just need to defeat Hai Fu to consolidate my northern rule. Anyway, barring any game-breaking glitches like what happened to me last year, I should have it beat in a few days.

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

This probably doesn't count but I beat 7th Saga easier version. It really was easier. In fact probably too easy lol. I plan to participate more this year in this thread as I'm itching to play more shorter SNES games in 2016. Last couple years been more focused on beating the RPGs.

That's the same blurry pic from last year cheater!

...nah I'm just kidding. That game is not worth two pics

Also, something I didn't think of. Can you guys let me know any fighting games that have multiple endings (for each character) and what the stipulations are to get the "not bad" ones?

I finished a really scrubby playthrough (continued multiple times) of Axelay last night. Playing it on a portable with a very questionable d-pad didn't help matters.

Oh no it's not! Compare:

Any connoisseur would recognize the subtle variations in fireworks, window reflection, etc. For shame, sir.

I actually like the game, FWIW, though it's undercooked. BTW that ending shot only lasts a couple seconds before it goes to credits; if I were patient it loops around again after a while, but I'm not.

Anyway, speaking of games I beat last year, here's David Crane's Amazing Tennis, completed:

Match scores were something like:

1R: Bobo 6-0 6-1, 2R: Sten 4-6 6-4 6-2, SF: Arthur 6-2 6-2, F: Angie 6-2 7-6(1)

Sten and Angie are the #1 and #3 players in the world, so I had a tougher road vs. last year.

I might do Andre Agassi Tennis again soon, but I have no plans to tackle Super Tennis or Jimmy Connors Tennis in the near future, so anyone's welcome to take those on. (International Tennis Tour, maybe, but that's loooong.)

Fun to hear I'm moving up the all-time list!

Ok, after a million years I think the spreadsheet is now future-proofed in case it needs to be handed off to someone else next year (hopefully not but you never know).  All you need to feed it is what I have in the beaten list

Sample formula:  ><

=IF(ISNA(INDEX($A$756:$A$813,MATCH($D731,$D$756:$D$813,0))),J$734,INDEX($A$756:$A$813,MATCH($D731,$D$756:$D$813,0)))

Anyways, it appears that we are down to 266 all-time unbeaten games.  The more of those knocked out the better

How do we find which are the all time unbeaten? The 10pt ones? I'm going to have to start buying up more commons to fill my collection holes in the coming months or I'll run out of ability to contribute to this year's battle

Fatal fury complete. It was okay,  I've played worse fighters I had hoped for a better picture but it got blurry so here's a pic of the last guy going down. Dkc3 as well. I beat the lost world boss last thinking it would take me to a shot at the credits again, turns out I was wrong
