Oh, and one more thing again, since california raisins does not have any CHR rom do I still have to split the file or can i just delete the header and burn straight to the eprom?

The NES ROM pinouts are this:

http://nesdev.parodius.com/NES%20...

You must compare to your EPROMS pins and determine what needs rewired. And the fact it lets you program it is your programmers fault, you need a bigger ROM to fit the 128KB. (A 27C010.) It is also Mapper 2 and uses CHR-RAM and only one ROM. Mapper 2 games can use the repro boards and cases from retrousb.com, I'd advise you to save time and use those. They're worth it for the time saved.

And the CHR-RAM you'll need is a 6264. You should be able to find one of those cheap, too. $2 or so.

Thanks again! I have ordered all of the parts needed to make a cart with a new board from retrousb, I am just waiting on getting the 6264 SRAM, It takes forever to get anything mail order when you live in northern Canada. When the SRAM gets in I will make one using the new boards but until then im gonna try on a donor board. Thanks and i will let you know how it goes!

FYI, there is a step by step instruction set somewhere in the homebrew section on how to make a California Rasins repro.

Ya, I found it and using the instruction screwed up the first one (missed bridging 2 pins), but got it on the second one, sucessfully made a california raisins repro cart out of a Amagon cart! I ended up using NES mapper / ROM Fixer / ROM Splitter 1.0, It works great, very simple and easy to use. Here is the link for it if anyone wants to try it. http://www.romhacking.net/utils/6...

You realize that is what my program does, right? lol. That isn't for separating the ROM, but more about fixing the header.

And yeah, you could just delete the header, but that's a tad harder than just dragging it onto the application and dropping it. Also, when it says mapper number, to find a donor use bootgod's database of NES boards, it's amazing.

TLROM Schematic :

Why there is not any pin called CHR A18? Somehow I suspect that CHR A18 is pin 01 on AM29F040 and pin 39 on AX5202P but I need someone confirm it.

MMC3 supports 256KB CHR max, so there is no A18.

Then how can you explain mapper 45 (multi 8 in 1 cards)? It is based on mapper 4 (MMC3).

Mapper 45 information :
http://up.iranblog.com/images/jckuc6bqhr1cn47q9cw.doc

Also I have a pirate card wich uses one glop top MMC3 (same as AX5202P) and two AT27C080 as PRG and CHR :
http://up.iranblog.com/images/luyxsadxwe9oxpyrejb1.jpg

I guess ? is A19 but I am not sure because it is shared between MMC3 and PRG and CHR.

So in practice you can see that MMC3 supports up to 1024 KB per each ROM.

Because those are "similar to" or "based on" the MMC3, not "the same". Mapper 45, like most X in 1 carts, adds extra registers beyond the MMC3 to handle the bigger ROM sizes.

According to a real TLROM there are three capacitors :
http://krauser.persiangig.com/image/Front1.PNG

C1 = 4.7uF 16V electrolytic (10uF is OK, higher volt ratings are OK)
http://up.iranblog.com/images/awz...

C2 = 0.1uF ceramic capacitor (6V rating minimum)
http://up.iranblog.com/images/adw...

CC = 220pf capacitor (5V or above)
http://up.iranblog.com/images/cdi...

As far as I had tested on breadboard Without these capacitors game runs OK. If you know some advantage of using these capacitors tell me. I have heard capacitors are for power filtering but what will happen if I don't use them? Will it damage to the chips over time, if I not use them?

I remember on NESDev they said it was just for a power filter just to keep the voltage steady on the parts. If you don't use them [Retrousb doesn't?] then they will probably work. But there's a higher chance of failure on the chip during game play obviously. Probably doesn't really matter though.

I'd put them on there just in case. They're not 100% neccesairy but smoothing out the power never hurts...obviously nintendo thought they were worth it.
