to reproduce: 

don't be logged in
navigate to latest posts
click a topic that is longer than 1 page
get dropped into thread at wrong post

for example I clicked the thread pictured and things loaded up starting at post 1. pager said 21 of 35. I clicked the previous page button out of curiosity and got the pictured result.
