I just sold a game on eBay. It's not much, $40 dollars... but Paypal has a temporary hold on the money. Tis has NEVER happened and I've done auctions that sold for 700+ dollars. It may be because the buyer has only 1 feedback (new user). Should I just refund the money and relist or should I ship it and put all the tracking information in Paypal to prove that I shipped??

No, if I had that it wouldn't have made the auction block. It was my Halo 3 game.

I'd contact the buyer and wait until the money clears.

yeah, just wait until the money clears. It happens when people don't have a credit card or bank account directly linked to their PayPal.

Once, I bought something and the seller had the same issue. The money cleared when I left positive feedback, maybe it's the case for you.

It depends what the hold is on. If paypal is holding it because it is listed in the video game category you will need to ship it before they will release the funds or 21 days without a claim or chargeback

I've had the same when I made a payment once. A lot of trouble seller won't send the item... It's a protection option, but it stinks if you'd ask me and creates problems.

Yeah, I agree. I was a little put off by it. I didn't want to send the item because it appeared that there was more protection for the buyer than the me (the seller). Everything worked out, OK, though. He got the game and I got my money. It was still a hassle, though!
