Shitty. It's not a stunt

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!

So a sealed smb without tab is worth 500 to 1000 and a smb with the tab is worth 30k.

Basic economics states otherwise. Clearly there is demand because of the SE pricing. I think its more about the fact that there is an extremely little supply of SE and literally millions of SMB's. When there is adequate supply then demand is satiated and prices dont really get high unless there is supply side restriction introduced.

As for your reasoning, thats why the gold zeldas sell for so much more than a standard cart. People pay more for the game they love even though there were millions made.

I agree that SE doesn't deserve a 42k price tag. But considering its rarity it deserves a lot more than SMB.

The thing is that a first print SMB sealed in mint condition is not as easy to find as a loose SMB cart. It is not just about total produced copies, it is also about earliest and mintiest = worth more.

Super Mario Bros. is way more significant as an icon than Stadium Events (even if it became an icon on its own inside the hobby). In the long run, these parameters will always play big on the sale numbers.

There are at least the following breakdowns

sticker sealed
hangtab no sticker
non rev a gold seal
rev a gold seal
white seal

the further you go down the list the Cheaper.   This one is near the top and minty.    The ones you state are at the bottom and not mint

Probably the nicest looking copy I've seen in the past 10 years---I was expecting around 20k, so a little surprised, but it's also the most iconic game (IMO) of all time and the black box doesn't hurt one bit

Does the price sticker have any effect on valuation or is it a complete non-issue? Would it be worth the risk to try and remove?

Removing the sticker really has 0 risk if you know what you're doing, so it would fully be up to the buyer. It has no basis in the evaluation given its ease of removal / rarity of the item in question.

it's against the site rules
Where? Posting the link after an item already sold will not change the outcome. The likelihood this gets backdoored is practically zero.

Seriously though any goober can do an ebay search for "sealed mario" sold listings, sorted by price high to low. It's the first link. Is  there some reason a storebought Mario sold for $30,100.44? It's freaking Mario, not exactly the holy grail of video games.

If anyone's feeling lucky, here's some completely random numbers for your weekly pick six lottery drawing:

Guys, I was never actually talking about posting a link. Say the thread title out loud, and then see how I intentionally spelled Link butt. I was trying to make a joke

Comic relief time. Here's your Link but. Actually it's more of a Zelda. Butt. Link sure is staring pretty hard...

I literally Googled "Link Butt Zelda" that was the first image that popped up!

Well there's already at least 70-100 SEs confirmed, so a few dozen isn't accurate.  There's probably a dozen sealed copies confirmed at this point.

In terms of hangtab sealed Super Mario Bros, there's probably about a dozen of those confirmed to, with this copy having potential to be the nicest, or at least tie as the nicest.  Condition considered it is basically a "name your price" copy.

It must be really nice to be able to casually drop 30k on a video game. That's like nearly a year's salary for me.

Considering that information then the price makes sense. I was not aware there were such a low number of this version of SMB sealed.

Nice.

Don't make that assumption unless you know for sure.
I know many guys who don't have the money but when they want something bad enough they seem to find a way. They sell other things and or finance to make that one big buy.
