leader board question.

Will another 84 knock out both 9th place 77's, leaving only nine players in the top ten?

Well, I still won't make top 10 but I didn't give up and wound up playing this some more and got a better score. I've always liked the Tecmo Bowl games, and I got the itch to revisit it today. I'll update my score later.

UPDATE:
91

Damn it BriGuy, did you have to take the wind out of my sails ?

Well, this sucks because I got tackled at the 3 yard line at the end of the first half so that could have been more points, oh well.

If a video is needed, I did record my game, but I'm having issues converting the .vmv to .avi (I used VirtuaNES). However, the .vmv file can be played back using a VirtuaNES emulator and a Tecmo Bowl rom. Since the .vmv is only 100KB, so I probably could send that file out if needed.

With less than 8 hours left to submit a score this week for Tecmo Bowl, here is you final Contest Weekly Update...

First, The Stats

25 players have submitted valid participation scores this week

14 participants have scored point differentials of at least 60 points thus far

8 Tecmo Bowl Masters have managed to crush their opponents by 80 or more points

Current Top 3 Tecmo Bowl Scores
1. bertsampson:    112
2. BilltownSparty:  105
3. erizisto:               98

NEWS

bersampson Leads Group of Monster Scores this Week with a Perfect Score of 112

Scoring here in week 7 started off with a gutsman004 laying down a crushing win (91-0) much to the amazement of all watching the competition. The dust had just started to settle when contest phenomn erizisto topped it with a score of (98-0). gutsman004 countered the next day with a (98-0) score of his own that left him just below erizisto on the leaderboards due to a 7 point difference in the first quarter. For a few days, no one in the contest would even come close to these scores.

Enter bertsampson. A few days later, bertsampson was the first NA Member to crack the 100 point differential this year posting a score of (105-0). Almost before a few members could congratulate him, he went ahead and posted a perfect score of (112-0) shortly after. An amazing feat - and congrats to him.
However, he is not alone in the 100+ point club.

Last night, NA wildcard and Beer Cowboy BilltownSparty posted a monster (105-0) score of his own to take over 2nd place by himself. B-Town also mentioned he believes it may be possible to eek out an extra 7 points in the time allowed and actually score (119-0). To my knowledge, this has never been done, and if someone can accomplish this before the contest ends tonight, it'd be NES history.

There are 6 other participants over the 80 point mark at the moment - the newest member (TWarwick07) "Super Bowl Shuffled" his way into this elite group earlier today with an (84-0) thrashing while controlling the Chicago Bears. He is currently tied with EgasKrad for 6th place.

Huge scores this week guys and congrats.

The bearcat-doug / Shane Saga Continues as bearcat-doug gets "sponsored" by Hooters to take down Shane next week in Ninja Gaiden

Shane's arrival last week back to the contests (and subsequent absence of score) rustled the jimmies of old rivals and elevated the play of those expecting a battle with "Ultimate Shane."
Perhaps the NA Member most inspired by Shane's emergence was bearcat-doug, who offered to retire should Shane top his Kung Fu score.
Going the extra mile this week, Doug got the blessing of a confused waitress at a Hooters restaurant to endorse him in the ageless bearcat-doug/Shane rivalry.

Will Shane respond this week? Will he gain any endorsements? Will dra600n or guillavoie post a score to show them how it's done?
Perhaps one of the new comers will again crash the scoreboard to silence everyone?

Ninja Gaiden should be a great one to watch this week.

Commander Santa to Step Away from Nintendoage for an Undisclosed Amount of Time

As the title says, I will be taking a leave of absence from Nintendoage - most likely for a couple months, perhaps longer.
This means the scoreboard and weekly updates will cease to exist unless somebody volunteers to do them each week.

I have been spending a HUGE amount of time here at NA, and although I really love it here, I have a wife and two kids that I feel like have been taking a backseat to this site.
A few things have come up in my personal life - along with trying to start a business - that are demanding more of my time.

I really wish there was a way to create more time each day to do everything, but having my 7 year old wait in the other room some days "so Dad can check Nintendoage" has really made me feel like a piece if shit. My kids should be coming first.

Hopefully, you guys will forgive me, and somebody will at least be able to keep a scoreboard. If things level out and I get some free time back again, I'll jump back into the contests, the message boards and the auctions here.

There are a few transactions I have to be sure get finished, then I'll be off the radar - perhaps for a long while.
Best of luck to everyone in the contests, and if I don't get to talk to everyone for a spell, have a great summer too.

Family life comes first Santa. You have no reason to feel bad for taking a leave of absence from here. I wish you the best and hope to see you again soon when everything gets sorted out. Until then, take care

I should be tied for 10th in my opinion.

Rules did not specify that ties through the first two quarters would be decided by third quarter points.

Commander, you are a good person. I'd much rather have a bunch of us miss you than your children. Spread you wings and fly! Fret not the sun.

I only missed cracking the top ten by a touchdown. Oh well, 73-0 isn't bad for a participation score.

We need something like 10-11 more score submission.

Santa, you always seemed like a good dude. I respect you a lot more for your decision to step away. Hope to see you again soon!

And now for my new score. After my first few games I did not like this game at all. But as usual, this contest forcing me to play it repeatedly made me like it in the end!

I'm trying. Plus if I wouldn't have missed an extra point earlier in the week I would be on top of the 77's.

Sorry but you asked for it
