Von Kaiser is so powerful and difficult to beat that the game doesn't even offer a password for you to fight him right away!

Anyone playing? I'm currently having a great time with Super Macho Man. I feel like I could spend an entire weekend just hanging out with him.

Sandman is more difficult than macho imo

I would say Sandman is more difficult and Tyson himself even.
I round 1 TKO Tyson for the first time at least a month before I managed to round 1 TKO Sandman for the first time ever.
 

While I have yet to 1 round Tyson, I agree, sandman is the most difficult match in the whole game. 
 

Sandman is only hard when there is any input lag. There's very little time to react when he stops for a split second before doing the triple uppercut. I think that he's easy when fighting him on my CRT playing on real hardware.

Macho and Tyson are the only ones that give me much trouble when I'm out of practice.

What a great game is MTPO. My brother in laws are loving it they are both around 25 years old. This game is timeless and really shows off the fun that can be had on an NES.

Tyson's 1 hit knock down punches on the first half of round 1 make the fight seem tougher, but they are quite telegraphed and easy to dodge.
Sandman is much harder.

But yes, MTPO is one of the greatest games of all time. I love it so much. It is so fun to play.

That’s funny. On my first run I had to rematch sandman but beat macho first try. I think I have played macho more than any other fighter just because Tyson whooped me so many times before I could figure out the cadence!!!!

Double Dragon 2 is getting on my nerves now. I want to no death it with a decently low score but I keep making stupid mistakes. Or enemies switch to asshole mode for some reason and spam attacks such as jump kicks until I'm dead.

I agree the one hiter quitters from Tyson are not as difficult. I think sandman’s lil roll his hands jab, that he does beginning of round 1, is the toughest punch to dodge. 

I can fore fire up MYPO and almost always get through the one hitter quitters from Tyson. But those jabs from sandman always give me trouble. Sandman’s triple uppercut I love to dodge. I actually yell at the screen “bring it on” when I know it’s coming. 
 

One of my biggest disappointments in my life is that I never beat Macho Man in under a minute time. My PB was around 1:07, iirc.
Been too long since I last played it for fast times.

I've made my way through 5 of the 6 with relative ease. Super Macho Man is making me think about throwing a brick through my TV. Trying to get him in under a certain time right now is proving a major irritation right now.

I've beaten Double Dragon 2 a few times with lower scores than I got in the 2017 contest, but I haven't been able to do it without a death.

Macho's spin punch is the worst to dodge in the game, IMO.

I don't get why people have so much trouble with Mr. Sandman unless they're hampered by lag. None of his attacks are that difficult to dodge. Input lag makes him almost impossible though.

Score update. Game completed. And with a lower score than last time we played this.

I never want to play DD2 again, lol.

Macho spin punch is really easy to dodge imo. It’s cool how different opinions can be concerning difficulty of certain characters attacks.

 

Super Macho Man is basically the Glass Joe of the World Circuit.
He is so telegraphed and easy to beat.
