Been awhile, Fall came and that means the end of yard sales around here for the most part. Plus my parents are watching their budget. I was as well but I sort of gave up on that since it's October and I have to buy ALL THE HALLOWEEN THINGS!! While out and about buying all the Halloween things, I went to my favorite store that still sells used games at a good price. Got some stuff.

Store:

Xbox Project Gotham Racing 2 - $0.50 (CIB)
PS2 Activision Anthology - $4 (CIB)
PS2 Raw Danger - $1.50 (no manual)

My want list: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=56&am...

Trading: Lots of Pokemon cards, broken systems, Final Fantasy figures, Inuyasha figures, older PC games - PM me for more info! Also on the hunt for Earthbound!

I've been going out a bit more to places to pick up last minute items for my costume for Halloween, so I've been able to stop at a few places that have games.

Thursday

Pawn Shop:

Playstation 1 memory card case - $2
360 Brutal Legend - $2.50 (CIB)
Xbox Star Wars Obi-Wan - $2.50 (CIB)
PS2 Summoner 2 - $2.50 (no manual but bought it to replace cover art and disc in other copy)
PS3 The Last Of Us - $10 (CIB or as CIB you can be with no damn manual)

Thrift Store:

Wii Bust A Move Bash - $3 (CIB)
Wii Octomania - $5 (CIB)

Today

Game Store:

Traded in some stuff to get $40 worth of credit so all of this was free basically.

Xbox Cold War - $5 (CIB)
Xbox Midtown Madness 3 - $5 (CIB)
Xbox Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack - $5 (CIB)
Xbox Gunmetal - $5 (CIB)
Xbox Seablade - $3 (CIB)
Xbox Brute Force - $3 (CIB, bought to replace my copy)
Xbox Bruce Lee: Quest Of The Dragon - $8 (CIB)
Xbox Halo 2 Limited Collector's Edition - $8 (CIB, even comes with slip cover and the case is in great shape)

Thrift Store:

N64 In The Zone '99 - $3 (has some marker on the label and back label has rental sticker on it)

So funny thing about that Xbox lot...$40 and I got 8 games! And at a game store where their prices are about a buck or two away from Ebay prices most of the time (though on their high priced items they are ebay prices or above...) I think that's pretty good...also Octomania looks super cute and finding a N64 game is nice...though it is a sports game...still cheaper then FMV and that's always good!

I was near HPB because of a local Anime Con, so I stopped by to use my 10% off coupon and the rest of my gift card.

HPB:

GBA Banjo-Pilot - $3.59
PS2 Evergrace - $5.39 (CIB)
Xbox Iron Phoenix - $8.99 (CIB)
Xbox DDR Ultramix 2 - $1.80 (CIB)

I over paid on Iron Phoenix but I saved on Banjo-Pilot so it balances out. I've actually never heard of Banjo-Pilot and when I saw a Banjo game for that cheap...I thought they priced it wrong...or it was a crap game. Looks like they priced it wrong. My gain, their loss.

Went to a pawn shop that I've never noticed before, but it looks like they've been there awhile (and here I thought I knew of all the pawn shops around me!)...odd.

Pawn shop:

Xbox Burnout 2 Developer's Cut - $3 (CIB)
Xbox Halo - $3 (CIB)
PS1 Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee - $2 (CIB)
PS3 DuckTales Remastered - $5 (CIB?)

They had a tiny selection of games, but the prices were good for games and season sets on DVD. If they come through, I might be picking up a small lot of N64 games from them...they just have to find/price them and they are taking their sweet time on that.

Oh and I'm not 100% on this but...did DuckTales come with a manual? I haven't found enough info on it to say if it did or not...mine has no manual so that's why I'm unsure if it's CIB or not.

Pawn shop came through, might have a contact there who'll set games aside for me...woo! First time in...3-4 years I've been collecting that I actually make a contact with someone at a store? Takes me awhile...

Pawn shop:

N64 LoZ: Majora's Mask (hologram version)
N64 Mario Party 2 (label damage)
N64 Buck Bumble

N64 Donkey Kong 64
N64 LoZ: Ocarina of Time (slight label damage)
N64 Banjo-Kazooie (label damage)
N64 Banjo-Tooie
N64 Super Mario 64 (slight label damage)

I got it all for $70. There were more, but he wanted to much for them so I just picked the best. The first three I'm keeping, the others I'm going to sell to pay for buying the three lol. Sadly all of them have some dumbasses name written all over them, including on the labels. The only two that don't have it on the label are Super Mario 64 and LoZ: OoT. But they still have marker on the cart. It's going to be a bitch to clean those labels...not sure how I'll do it.

Been cleaning my room as of late, uncovered some stuff to trade in/donate/sell. So today I went to a local game shop and traded in as much as the guy would take. He gave me $25 in store credit, which I used for more games lol. He actually gave me more credit because I was buying stuff that he was trying to get rid of quickly. After that I took the leftovers to a pawn shop, sold it to them...getting another $25...in cash...and I bought $3 of stuff.

Game store:

All this for $32

Xbox NHL Rivals 2004 - CIB
Xbox Bicycle Casino - CIB
Xbox Maximum Chase - CIB
Xbox NBA Inside Drive 2003 - CIB
Xbox Wreckless Yakuza Missions - CIB (Own this but I had the platinum hits one)
Xbox Shadow Ops - CIB
Xbox NBA Inside Drive 2002 - CIB and sealed
PS2 Art of Fighting Anthology - CIB

Pawn shop:

PSP Popolocrois - $2 (CIB)

So again, more Xbox games...collecting Only On Xbox releases. I grabbed the PS2 game on a whim...I've heard of the games and for what 4 games in 1 disc...looked to be a good price. The pawn shop I got two DVDs which is why I said $3 not $2. But they were barren for good games. All of it was junk and the few ok titles they had were over priced...then I saw the PSP game in a stack...unpriced...been awhile since I've gotten a good PSP game, they're super hard to find now.

Today was Cash America's sale day. Buy one game, get one free. Sadly pretty picked over on games and I only managed to go to two of them before my dad got sick of waiting. I also went to Gamestop to use up some credit.

Gamestop:

Skyrim poster - FREE
Sonic Boom Fire and Ice poster - FREE

3DS Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes - $20 (CIB, sealed)
3DS Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker Collector's Edition - $30 (CIB, sealed)
PS3 Trails of Cold Steel - $37 (CIB, sealed)

Pawn shop 1:

GB Hello Kitty's Cube Frenzy - $0.50 (I like Hello Kitty...came in plastic case)
Wii Super Mario All Stars - $1.90 (CIB, Nintendo Select version)
360 Lost Planet Collector's Edition - $1.90 (CIB)

Pawn shop 2:

Xbox Phantasy Star Online - $1.50 (CIB)

I got two other games at the first store but one isn't worth mentioning since I'm just using it for the case and the other ended up being disc only in a printed out cover (looked real to me at the time), so that's just going to get sold to a shop who'll take it.

The pawn shops kinda let me down today. Pretty meh games, except the All Stars, but that wasn't the limited edition one (need to find a copy of that one of these days.). The good stuff came from Gamestop (of all places), which was to be expected...new, sealed and paying that price. Happy about the games at least...two special editions. That Trails game is the first one I've ever owned in the series...going to have to look out for the games now. Happy about the posters...free is always cool. Surprised to see a Skyrim poster still...but didn't Skyrim get an HD remake? Maybe that's why they had one...

"I don't even try anymore, it's honestly a waste of time."
-This more often than not. Though I am speaking mostly about thrift store game hunting. I've had some luck with systems, and accessories through Craigslist. I've had good luck on furniture (small entertainment stand/center) at thrifts for dirt cheap.
I think the last things I pulled from a thrift that were what I could call scores were: Raze's Hell for XBox, the entertainment stand for $6, and a PS3 controller for $5.

^ Um? Ok...?

Weird.

Anyways today I was feeling under the weather but I went out because my parents were going to thrift stores (a rare thing now because they've stopped going for some reason...) and I thought I might find a DVD or book...didn't think I'd find games or anything, but I did...today was a good day.

Goodwill:

PS2 Silent Hill 2 - $3 (CIB, disc is Greatest Hits version?)

St. Vincent de Paul #1:

GC Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker - $8 (CIB)

St. Vincent de Paul #2:

Sony Trinitron Wega with remote - $21

So while I didn't get a lot, I got quality stuff...stuff that I was VERY shocked to see just sitting there. But it was a Sunday...maybe that's the time to go? The Silent Hill 2 I already have so that one is just going up on ebay to fund buying that TV lol. The Wind Waker is going into my collection, and my old copy that had some damage to the manual is going on ebay as well. The Silent Hill 2 disc...the case has Gamestop stickers on it so I know why it's a GH edition...it's just annoying that the GS people did this. They don't pay attention.

Pretty excited on that TV. If I remember right (and I'm 99.9% sure I am) one of the best CRTs you can get are those Trinitrons. I know I've heard Wega mentioned as well. Heavy bastard though. Going to have to test it out a lot before I move it upstairs. Make sure I 100% love it.

First "find" of 2017...went to HPBs to trade in some old books/DVDs and grabbed some games. Their prices are getting up there...I mean the "collectables" in the case are always priced badly but the stuff on the shelf isn't exactly "half price" anymore. I picked out ten games I wanted and put them all back save for three of them because their prices were all MORE then eBay prices. :/ Not a good sign.

HPB:

DS Final Fantasy XII - $15 (CIB)
PSP Final Fantasy II - $10 (CIB)
PS2 Shadow Hearts From The New World - $20 (CIB)

They had a lot of RPGs sitting on the shelf (again all but these were more then eBay so that's why!) when I went in and they didn't all come in on the same day so maybe the other collectors who beat me to most of the good games were waiting for a sale day or something...hmm.

Pretty happy to get more games for the PSP and DS...been lacking for finds for those systems. I was actually hoping for some Vita games honestly...no sign of Vita stuff...not even a crappy sports game. They really are hard to find aren't they...

Went to Wal-Mart and looked in the game section since everyone seems to be getting amazing deals...yeah my luck isn't that good.

Wal-Mart:

Vita Wolf Among Us - $10 (CIB)
Vita MLB 14 The Show - $3 (CIB)

Got the sports game simply for the case...I have a game I got from Gamestop that has a rip in the case...I figured that might be the cheapest way to get a new case? Got Wolf Among Us because I heard it was pretty good.

The thing to take away from everyone going crazy over Wal-Mart deals and kiosks and blah blah blah...is that I'm just not going to get that stuff...so I need to focus on the older items that I MIGHT be able to find. Hence why I went to a thrift store...

Thrift store:

(All were $3 each)

7800 Dig Dug
2600 Ms. Pac-Man (own it)
2600 Taz
2600 Porky's
2600 Donkey Kong Junior (own it)
2600 Super Cobra
2600 Space Shuttle
2600 Gyruss
2600 Zaxxon
2600 Star Wars Jedi Arena
2600 Survival Run
2600 Gravitar

(Each bag was $5)

Bag 1:

2600 Mystery game (missing label)
2600 Race
2600 Towering Inferno
2600 Othello (own it)
2600 Galaxian
2600 Basic Programming (own it)
2600 Grand Prix
2600 Gorf

Bag 2:

2600 Keystone Kapers
2600 Asteroids (own it)
2600 Midnight Magic
2600 Star Raiders (own it)
2600 Video Olympics (own it)
2600 Warlords
2600 Star Ship
2600 Baseball

Bag 3:

2600 Swordquest Earthworld
2600 Starmaster (own it)
2600 Adventure (own it)
2600 Kaboom! (own it)
2600 Superman (own it)
7800 Pole Position II
2600 Journey Escape (own it)
2600 Freeway

So...Atari...not my favorite system honestly but it was fun seeing someones whole collection at a thrift store...I have to assume I was the first to get to them since they were still there...but no sign of a system so...?

It was sort of a gamble with the bags...mainly bag 3...but I can just sell off the games I already own as a bundle because honestly these aren't worth that much lol. I even managed to get two 7800 games...don't own the system but one day I will.

It's better then nothing.

Randomly picked this up at Target while I was looking for Wii U games on clearance.

PS4 Stick it to the man - $5.58 (CIB)

It was sealed but it was also labeled as "used" anyone know if they reseal used games? I opened it up and everything looked fine. No scratches on the disc.

I honestly picked this up on a whim as I don't own a PS4 and don't plan on owning one unless I find one used for super cheap. It just looked like a really quirky game.

Went out to Monroe of all places to pick up a waterbed and hit some sales and thrift stores along the way. Totally missed out on an amazing PS1 lot since SOMEONE wouldn't hold the games for me for 10 god damn minutes. I just hope another collector got them and not some asshole reseller. :/

Yard Sale 1:

Mario Kart phone - $2 (from 2002, really cute)
Halo Soundtrack - $0.50

Yard Sale 2:

Minecraft Steve Diamond Edition figure - $1 (in box)
Minecraft Enemy Mobs paper craft set - $1 (complete?)

Yard Sale 3:

Three random Pokemon books - $3

Goodwill:

Xbox Cel Damage - $4 (CIB)
Xbox Serious Sam - $4 (Missing manual)
PS1 Pac-Man World - $3 (CIB)

Thrift Store:

20? Issues of Nintendo Power - $40 (probably over paid given the condition but I got excited...)

So...meh? I love the phone and some of the NP issues don't look horrible...some even still have the posters and cards! I just wish I could find some games...ones that have been on my actual want list...

Monroe eh? Now your getting closer to my neck of the woods    Gratz on finding games.  I wanted to go out to all the yard sales so bad today but just couldn't, I had way too much packing and cleaning to do.

Don't worry, I'm not planning on going out that way again unless my parents need to pick something up again. If you are in that area, the St. Vincent De Pauls in Monroe still has some Nintendo Power issues, they're 1.99 each if you need em. Monday they're having their 50% off sale though.

And you didn't miss out that much honestly...pretty bare out there since it's a holiday weekend. Figured as much.

Made a quick stop at a local pawn shop since it was the end of the month, I'm going to get paid tomorrow and I wanted to treat myself for having held out on not visiting a pawn shop for awhile.

Pawn Shop:

NES Lode Runner - $9
PS3 Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness - $5 (CIB)
360 Darksiders - $5 (CIB)
360 Darksiders II - $2 (CIB)
DS Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey - $1 (loose)
3DS Heroes of Ruin - $1 (loose)

I love when I get people who don't look up prices on eBay when I ask for a better deal...the lady gave me the DS/3DS games for SUPER cheap. And I managed to grab some games that have been on my want list for awhile!  ...I love pawn shops.

I haven't been going to yard sales...which sucks a lot. But today I heard Gamestop is doing 70% trade in value if you bring 6 games in and are a pro member so I brought some old PS3 games into trade. And they had a B2G1 going on so that was a bonus.

Gamestop:

Vita Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception launch edition - $40 (CIB)
Vita Dungeon Hunter: Alliance - $8 (CIB)
Vita Reality Fighters - Free (CIB)
Vita Toukiden: The Age of Demons - $8 (CIB)

So...receipt says my end total after the trade in value was $32.01 so you guys can figure it out...

I was happy to see that utawarerumono: mask of deception there. The others were just on my list of exclusives to check off. The utawarerumono is new and sealed, the others pre-owned.

Finally went to yard sales and there was...nothing. Last sale of the day I found some selling fodder and a few odd games I didn't have.

Yard sale #1:

Super Mario Adventures comic book (in really bad shape, the spine is all battered to hell.) - $0.50

Yard sale #2:

Gameboy Burger King toy - $0.25

Yard sale #3:

PS1 Resident Evil 2 - $2 (Missing manual)
PS1 Monster Rancher - $2 (Disc only)
PS1 Cyber Org - $2 (Missing case, Japanese)
PS2 Turok - $2 (Missing manual)
PS2 SoulCalibur II - $2 (Missing manual)
N64 Star Wars Empire - $2
N64 Star Wars Racer - $2
GC Donkey Konga - $2 (Missing manual)

The PS2 games are ones I didn't have, Monster Rancher was cool...shame it's disc only. And then there was that odd Japanese game. I got it because I need a legit Japanese game to test my JPN PS1 out.

Slim pickings.

Bwhahaha! Today makes up for yesterday and most of today actually. Started out like yesterday...jack shit. A lot of people with the same story "Oh I can't sell those" or "I already sold those" or my favorite...this guy had all of his sons old games and toys and said the son probably didn't even know his dad was holding onto the stuff...still wouldn't sell anything. Why bring it up...WHY?! But...one of the last sales of the day I lucked out and found a guy willing to sell some games. They were his wives but she wasn't there at the moment and he seemed to hesitate. I was about to just walk off but he went and got them for me and ooooh...I never handed over money faster nor run away faster...I didn't want her coming back and telling him to stop. >:3

Yard sale #1:

PS2 Half Life - $2 (CIB)

Yard sale #2:

Sega Shadow handheld from McDonalds $0.25 (dead battery...idk if it will work)

Yard sale #3:

Mario Kart K'nex Thwomp track set - $5 (seems to be complete)

Yard sale #4:

PS2 Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne - $1.50 (CIB)
PS2 Klonoa 2 - $1.50 (CIB)
PS2 Okage - $1.50 (CIB)
PS2 Gradius V - $1.50 (CIB)
PS2 Mister Mosquito - $1.50 (game only)
PS2 Full Metal Alchemist Broken Angel - $1.50 (CIB)
PS2 Giants Citizen Kabuto - $1.50 (CIB)
PS2 Zone of the Enders - $1.50 (CIB)
PS2 Kessen II - $1.50 (CIB)
PS1 Legacy of Kain - $1.50 (game only)

Ah...so nice to find good games. And because they were female owned (and adult owned) most are in amazing condition. Gradius V has 0 scratches on it and the case feels new! There were other games but I had them or didn't want them. These games were obviously untouched by the sellers and resellers (because of the dust on them and the amount of great games!!!). I'm very happy. Finally someone was willing to sell...jeez it's like ripping teeth out with some of these sellers around here. Still, thanks be to the video game gods who have smiled upon me this day.

Actually it is. I've been trying to practice it as I don't talk to people and I don't know how to talk to them when I do talk to them. But what does that have to do with anything...what he was saying doesn't seem to be small talk to me. It's annoying talk. A lot of sellers are guilty of this but the worst ones are when they go on and on about the amount of stuff they have and aren't willing to part with it. It's just teasing me at that point.

I offer double what you payed for Gradius V.
Joking aside, actual good deal on those PS2 games. I found my copy of Gradius on GameStop but it was loose and and haven't found a manual and case since.
