Well I enjoyed myself very much today. The Portland Retro Gaming Expo Atari cart was a really cool gift! I would have stuck around a bit longer, but it was kind of packed and I don't do very well in places like that.

That was crazy. So many people. I'm thankful I got out of that contest alive. Really great meeting Dain, Qixmaster, Rick, and Zzap. When is the next get together?

Post lots of pics guys, I can't wait to hear about it all. I almost made the trip at the last minute. I missed the ride down to Gainesville cause I still wasn't feeling good, but Saturday morning I felt great. I tried to book a last minute flight but it just wasn't meant to be.

I am so flippin' tired! What a great time though.

Robin, it was an honor to be in your presence... made me realize that anyone of you top finalists at the NWC could have walked away with first place. It was cool meeting you and your family and thank you so much for your hospitality. The BBQ was great. Hopefully we can get some people down at my place in the coming months for a gaming get together.

Sorry the booth wasn't a bit bigger... i had anticipated it being the same sizes from years previous (which would have gave us plenty of room). I am really happy that the NWC compitition was at our booth. There were people lined up ALL DAY to play! simply amazing. I am sure Dain took lots and lots of great photos. I think between Robin and I we stood two days straight yesterday.

It was super cool meeting everyone finally! Especially Dain, James and his wife and the elusive braveheart. You guys totally rock. Thanks for making the retrogamingexpo one for the ages. I am sure next year will be bigger and badder than ever.... I plan on doing A LOT more planning before hand so we know what we have to work with.

Anyway, thank you to the show organizers. Rick, Chuck, Toby, VGW, John Hancock, John Rose, Robin, Dain, Eric, Systemfreak, Zzap! and his Chunkout 2600, the James (not Zzap) who owned me in the Chunkout Comp, the James Johnson for winning the Hoppin' Mad Comp, Atari Age for being super cool vendors set up next to us, Jason Wilson, Nintendo Age and Retrozone thank you!. If I forgot anyone else, sorry

Qix - I didn't realize your booth was the NWC booth (again, that's what I get for not lurking for months)... so I assume it was you who told me I got a good deal when I bought Slalom for $15 at the booth next door.

You weren't kidding. Got it home, opened it up, it's got the bag and all inserts... couldn't believe it! a 9 or 9.5 easily!

Nate yeah, that was me.  That was a very good price on Slalom, I'm surprised y-bot didn't have it higher

Thanks for the kind words.  It was a good time even though it was crazy.  Watching Dain casually stroll around, I was so envious, as I marked score, changed waiting lists, and explained rules all while trying to hit start on 3 buttons simultaneously.  I now understand why he didn't do the expo this year.  Not enough fun while everyone else is having it
Give me a call for sure when you head here again.  Or ill hit you up on here if I head south.

Was y-bot the one with the blonde in the black dress working the booth? If so I bought some stuff there too. Mostly just some Game Gear stuff, but good stuff all the same.

Yep. I brought my SD card w/pics to work, but forgot my SD-to-USB key and my PC doesn't have one here. I'll try and post them tonight or tomorrow morning.

she dressed up as princess peach at one of the CGEs.  They are both totally cool.  Last year I stayed at toby's house when i sold at the expo... he was cool enough to let me use his guest bedroom/bed.  The organizers of this show are some of the coolest people I have met!  I really hope i can help them out this next year in helping the show grow!

I agree, this years show was the best I have ever been too (it was our first for those who didn't know). We too love coming down to Portland for the weekend...always makes for a nice weekend. Hopefully next year we will be able to volunteer (pending on what the Air Force has in mind for me) should make for good times either way...
Can't wait till next year

I work at my family business, Coin Corner & Hobbies in Oregon City.  It's an antique and collectibles store but I don't put any of my video game stuff out for sale.  It is however in the garage here so if you are ever in the area give me call and you are welcome to dig through my stuff.
