^Thanks! I messaged in chat and got one "C" and one "B"... so it might look like "C" will be the one to pick here. I'll let this go on for a little bit longer and if nobody comes up with anything, I'll go with "C". :3

Very slick rom hack bounce, keep up the good work! This would make a pretty cool repro, nothin' like a little Rodger Rabbit love.

So I guess anything that doesn't hot glue is perfectly acceptable?

Just cut down on the ridiculous amounts of hot glue and I'll stop complaining. Instead of amberizing the PCB in glue, just put some dabs of it on solder joints that might break off (like soldering to SMD IC solder pads).

EDIT: used the wrong term

What makes you think I didn't try your "small dab" technique and have those small dabs be so small that they broke off?  What you think I cover stuff in glue for the fun of it?  This's something I learned over time that if you want to build something that's durable then you have to make sure it's secured firmly.

I use zip ties that's not why I use glue.  I use glue to keep wires from getting in the way of physical things (carts, cart bays, moving parts) and also wires just break off from where they're soldered when you wiggle them enough.  Really I can remove my hot glue if I really need to.  Having glue there doesn't pose any problem.  This isn't f#cking victoria secret pcb edition.  This's "let's make something that doesn't break from too much handling"

Okay guys. Don't know what glue has to do with the game (Unless you all are already talking about making a repro by glueing excess wires or a label or something?), but lets stay on topic.

Thank you all for you complements! 8D Sorry I've been MIA for a bit, I've been real busy last week getting this done, but I should be back on track this week on this. More to come. :3

Oh, thanks! Yeah, this will better explain the situation with this game in a nutshell. We all got Roger Rabbit, but in the form of a different game, which is actually more based off the movie than the FDS Japanese game.

I think many kids would gladly have played the FDS Rodger Rabbit game instead, even if it isn't all that great. The LJN version is terrible...

Again good luck with the project, it'll be nice to see it completed.

The LJN game wasn't that bad, it was designed by Rare. Aesthetically it was very nicely done, just that it was extremely frustrating. It did incorporate a lot of elements of the film, though. The Kemco game had almost nothing to do with the movie. Unfortunately 16-bit styling was only done on computers, particularly the 1988 Who Framed Roger Rabbit and 1991 Hare Raising Havoc on Amiga.

Hey guys, just an update. Everything is nearing completion!! Who would have thought putting a 128 KB game back onto a 97 KB game would be so flippin difficult!

Damn even the dang title screen was hard! I took some advice and did find out how to move stuff down a byte (all I had to do was hit a button DX< ) so I can properly view it without all the back and forth stuff I've been doing. Makes it a whole lot easier.... even though this stuff is still pretty difficult. Didn't know how to use the import function correctly, so I DREW ROGER BY HAND  :

Completed:

*All character's animations completed. :3 Kinda. (having trouble with the Penguin)

*Title Screen (Only Roger done)

Problems occuring:

*Wrong palette on title screen (Using Bugs's palette, sue me.)

*Couldn't complete the title art on Roger due to Bugs being so freaking tall and Roger is wider in the feet which requires more tiles which the Bugs Bunny game did not have. I covered it up with a checkerboard dithering to make it seem as if Roger's feet are in shadow. Best I can do. Also, had to use Bug's arm since Roger's was too far out and too low, there just wasn't the tiles for it. =\

*The Penguin character's face is missing in his death animation becasue the character that was used in place didn't have to use the face tile. They cut ever corner they can with this game. I might just shrink the penguin down so you can see his face.

What's left:

*The "BU" and the "C" letters in the title share tiles. I'm gonna have to be crafty if I'm gonna put "Roger Rabbit" in the title. It's not gonna be easy.

*The ending... This one might be different than the FDS version of RR.... I'm thinking of using some Gameboy sprites to make the characters small enough to fit withing the tile limits. I might have to get clever with this too.

*Full color manual.  Got a few pages done, but I gotta rewrite it

That's it for now. More soon!!!

Big thanks to Proveaux for helping me and fully reviving this project. He has successfully 1:1 ported both the title and the ending (Parts I was having trouble on). We're ironing out some animation and color palette bugs, so hopefully we'll see something soon!

I'll update as progress develops.

Thanks, Proveaux!

Had some time and worked on title. In English now and palette placement close to original. Didn't take too much time on how the "Roger Rabbit" words look but you can edit it to your liking.
