I've been wanting to get a copy of this ever since I saw the first video of it during the coding event. Unfortunately I refuse to back any more games on Kickstarter due to previous projects I got burned on but I'll buy a copy once it's released.
I totally respect that.
I'm not sure that if I tell you that "this one will be different", it would change your mind However, I can assure you that we are 200% working on it and that we want this one to be the first of a long list, so it has no interest in being delayed ! I hope that Twin Dragons will live up to your expectation.
It doesn't help but here are some tips to keep backers happy:
- don't miss your launch date. If you think it'll take a year, tell people 2 years. There will always be delays and I've never seen a Kickstarter game hit their launch date, it's completely frustrating.
- don't try adding features into the game that weren't part of the Kickstarter. Put them in the next game, if people backed the game without those features listed, then they aren't that important.
- don't allocate finances nor resources to ports that weren't part of the Kickstarter campaign. Too many times I've seen announcements of, "Hey, good news, we're going to release an unexpected Switch/PS4/Xbox version of this game!" No, I gave you my money expecting it to be allocated towards a version I specifically wanted, not another version that wasn't listed. Especially when you missed your launch date in the first place, that is infinitely frustrating. Allocating resources for a project somewhere other than the project requirements is a sign of poor management. Release that version after everything else is done.
If you could promise me all of this then I would back it but unfortunately there's no way to know that so I'll buy it when it comes out. I promise.
