Well my local TRU had my back like it usually does (if I get there within a day or so of them hitting shelves). They had 2 Sheiks on the shelf, lots of the other 2. The other Sheik was left there for the next lucky person.


 




And if you are wondering why I am missing a handfull of first wave commons... That's a pretty sore subject lol. I waited until a BOGO40% sale to get those, and picked them all up in one day (and they were placed in one bag). The question now is, where the hell is that bag?? See, I have a tendency to let my cars trunk and back seat get filled up with my purchases, until I run out of room and bring it all inside. Once I do that, it may or may not just sit in a big pile in my basement until I feel like sorting them out. Sometimes this causes things to be misplaced, and somehow I lost that whole flipping bag. It's around here somewhere... I hope.

welp, I preordered them all from amazon and no updates except my bowser, which they say I won't get until march. unreal. what is the point of preordering? It's not like I can just wake up early on the 1st since everybody broke street date.

Bowser's extremely common.  I went to TRU at like 5 this evening and there were about four pegs full of him (he'd been out for almost two full days by then), so if you're not going to get your preorder Bowser until March I'd just cancel and pick him up in-store.

All I want is Ike, I'll have to see if GS is still doing preorders for him. I didn't even think of going there, I just went to Amazon and got disappointed instead. I just want him for my shelf. :/

Edit: Am I seeing things, or is the JP version of Ike slightly different than the US version? Cloak looks different, colors are less bright on the US one...

My local store is but I don't know what other stores are getting. Mine may be higher then average since there is no other toys r us around within 45min.

I was enjoying the lack of Amiibo threads, I thought the fad was over.

Got an email saying my Lucario will be ready to pick up on Friday. Couple days before "release" I guess.

I was going into my local Target,Wal-Mart,Toys R Us,and Best Buy to see if I could luck into finding one of the rarer ones to help people out. None of them ever had anything other than the most common ones so I just quit bothering. Considering all the horror stories I've read about Amiibos I'm glad i don't collect them.

Yeah, no stores are going to have any of the rarer ones.  Scalpers already scooped up those by now.  I go and check whenever I'm in the area of one of those stores just in case, but no way I'd make a special trip.

This Target is getting 28 Rosalina's it seems like (will vary by store) but it (fortunately) sounds like there should be plenty enough that if you show up when they open on release day you should be able to easily get one, especially since it sounds like some stores (some at least, not neccessarily all of them) will be having a limit on how many you can buy in one transaction. So we can hopefully put our fears to rest that they will only be getting just a couple of them.

Anyways her DPCI number is 207-00-5021 And the rosalina amiibo will be in Target's weekly ad next week. if you don't see her give that number to an employee and politely ask if there is anyway they can check for you (I work at Walmart, it's not the employees fault so please remain polite don't get angry and blow up at the poor associate for something they have no control over, we and other retail employees really do want to help and will gladly go out of their/our way to do so in any way we can) 


And fortunately I live in the Minneapolis/St Paul area, where Target started, there are soooooooooooo many Targets here. I think in 2012 Walmart finally surprassed Target in the whole state for number of locations, but I believe, and it sure seems like there are still way more Targets then Walmarts in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro (though Walmart has and is continuing to open more and more stores here and may eventually surprass them)

According to Target's site there are 11 Targets within 8 miles of my apartment and 20 Targets within 12 miles of my apartment compared to only 8 Walmarts within 12 miles of my apartment.

I still haven't received an email from TRU about my Lacario pre-order. I have the receipt anyway so it's no biggie. I had an employee go to the back and personally lay eyes on them. He said there are enough to fill preorders and five extras to put out. I will call my two local Target's today to check on Rosa. Check your GS because there might be a midnight release if 75 preorders were placed.

So what day is Target supposed to have Rosalina out for sale? And what day is Best Buy supposed to have Meta Knight out for sale? Is it the 30th or the 1st?

Target is suppose to be February 1st. for Rosalina and she is in the weekly ad that week too. Not sure about Meta Knight.

I was able to pick my first 3 wave 3 preorders at Toys R Us today, Sheik, Toon Link, and Bowser. I got an email that my Bowser was ready to be picked up so I went there to get it and looked on the shelf. They had a bunch of Bowser on the shelf and tags for the other two, but none on the shelf. I asked the employee about it and showed him my preorder receipt and he went and back and looked and found them. Said if they rang up I could pick them all up today. They rang up fine, so I was able to cross those off my list.

I had all of wave 3 preordered. The exclusives at their respective locations, the rest from Amazon. So far I've got the Lucario email from TRU, an email from Amazon saying my Bowser is delayed until March, and nothing about anything else. Ugh.

I don't think Samus is rare. I was at Toys R Us today and they had at least 20 of them. Same with Diddy Kong from the second wave.

There are quite a few Samus by me as well, not as many as the other Wave 1 commons but plenty that I'm not calling her rare.

I love Target's blurb for Rosalina! It's cute.

I really wish Best Buy didn't get an exclusive though. It was painfully obvious that it would end badly, given their track record with Amiibo. I honestly think even Walmart would have been a better choice; at least they handled Wave 1 reasonably well.

Amazon sent me an email confirming shipping of my Bowser, Sheik, and Toon Link as delivery by March 2.

I did pick up a Bowser at TRU tonight. That was the only Wave 3 figure they had.

I visited my local Toys-R-Us earlier. No Wave 3 Amiibos yet but they have a sign stating new Amiibo characters will be available 1/30. I plan on going Friday morning.

A bit disconcerting, but they have a "4 for $44" promotion going on. It's like they are actually encouraging scalpers. I plan on picking up Bowser and Toon Link.

Any others to look out for? For the record, I'm not looking for a complete set, but if I find special Amiibo that other NA guys want, I could ship them at or just over cost.

No 3-4x scalper price BS.

Also I've got Dedede and Meta Knight on preorder at Best Buy. What is the street date for these and can I check my preorder status using my preorder store receipt? I can't receive any email notifications on the preorder slip due to the fact my email address has an underscore character and the associate was unable to enter it in the system. Stooopid...
