For non-emulated, do the Wii/Wii U versions count? I ask because I don't currently have an NES handy.

They are okay as long as they are exactly the same as their NES versions.

I didn't compete at all last year but I'm going to try to get at least one attempt in for every game this year. I know I am going to get my ass kicked but it will be fun and a great reason to get and play many games that I have never played before.

Now I'm off to update my Wanted thread so if anyone has any dupes of many of these games let me know.

This makes me sound like a positive guy, no?

Still, while emulators are tolerated, using the real hardware is the most appreciate manner to play, but we get that people will not rush and buy carts to play in the contest every week.

My vote would be to let the people who submitted "invalid" scores on that still count as a participation point, since they may have participated early in the week and not had a chance later. -- so their streak would be unbroken.
