Cool. Will be updating when I get home.

Actually, Spy Hunter has an audio glitch. Maybe Beta 3 has corrected it.

My Sony Bravia gets dark sometimes if I stay on the AVS menu for a few seconds without doing anything. If I click on a menu item or turn up the volume it gets light again. The screen also gets darker sometimes if I am on a level that has a dark background. It may be an issue with my Sony Bravia TV but I have only experienced this issue with the AVS. I have the TV's Contrast enhancer and light sensor turned off.

What model? There are settings that do this in addition to a firmware issue with some of the TVs which there's a firmware update for the TV to fix it.

I have modle KDL-40W5100. I heard that Sony may have fixed this issue on some tvs but not all of them. I could not find any info on if there was a fix on my specific modle

I wanted to try the beta firmware so I just installed the Scoreboard software version 1.11 on my Windows 7 laptop. I wasn't able to get Scoreboard to recognize that the AVS was connected even after repeated tries including different USB ports, Scoreboard restarts, computer restarts, and AVS restarts. It wasn't until I entered the nintendoage key that it finally recognized that the AVS was connected. So that seems like a bug b/c you shouldn't need to link your nintendoage account to update firmware, right?

Yup that counts as a bug! Will add that pretty high to the todo list.

The scoreboard software worked for me (as far as updating firmware goes) without having to add my nintendoage id, so the bug is not universal. I'm on Windows 10 though.

I'm pleased with how quick and painless firmware flashing is too.

I used Windows 7 and didn't encounter that bug.

Can the firmware also be updated using a flash cart?

Quick tip for Everdrive users wanting to submit scores. Run the game once, button combo back to AVS menu, and go back in to the game again. I had some issues with "cart was changed between playing and submission" last night.

I believe this was due to the AVS reading the first ROM the ED is feeding it, then when you pick a new game it looks like you switched carts. The Everdrive holds your last game played, as displayed by the ability to hit start on the first menu to boot up the last played game.

A quick glance did not reveal this discussed. I guess this could be counted as a bug, but I don't think it really is. It's the Everdrive holding last game info. So no email to support.

So I tried again and had similar connection issues even though my key was still present, so it looks like the key is unrelated. Not sure what eventually gets it to work for me...

When I use the latest firmware (v1.20b5), the expansion audio does not function (verified that the menu option was On). This did not happen with v1.0 and v1.10. Anyone else have this issue?

It's working just fine with my Akumajou Densetsu cart with the same firmware. That's all I've really been able to try though.

I tried to submit a new score for Castlevania yesterday. I was playing for about an hour and then I tried to upload the score. Unfortunately the Scoreboard software (Windows version) crashed and my score was lost. This was not the first time this happened. The same mistake often appears when I try to view the Top Scores.

Now I'm gonna try it on another laptop and check if it's more stable on there.

Scoreboard 1.12 now opens on my Mac and I am able to use it to upgrade firmware. I am unable to use it to log into my scoreboard account however (and subsequently upload scores).

Thanks for the input SmaMan. That was actually the game I was trying (Akumajou Densetsu). I was using an Everdrive with os13 and one of the custom 024 mappers (with specific high/low volume settings) instead of an actual cart. Since the expansion audio for this setup worked on an earlier firmware version of the AVS (v1.10), I figured I would post my issue here instead.

I'll need to try out my FDS and Powerpak running the same games when I get home to see for sure. So far they've all worked on 1.00 and 1.10. (Even Lagrange Point. Unfortunately, I've sent that one off to get translated.)

I have no idea how the AVS does it, but I'd assume the method is different from flash cart to actual cart.

What do you mean by unable to log in to your scoreboard account? There is no separate account, you only need to copy the key from NA into the scoreboard software and it should connect.

What exactly happens after you add the keys from NA into the scoreboard program?

For my Mac The key text does copy and paste into the activate window but then nothing happens....even after hitting enter. Logon stays red. Tried this with and without AVS connected. Also tried regenerating key. Issue was not observed on my old windows PC (that I have been using in the meantime and works ok). Kynrek may have the same issue.

Yup this is the issue I am having. I even tried removing a character and retyping it.
