Do you guys have a personal postage scale when calculating shipping costs, or are you guys just best guessing the ship cost?

I'm thinking about investing in a postage scale for my shipping needs. My friend bought a scale recently and says it saves him a lot of time and money. I do like the idea of printing and paying for my labels through paypal and thus avoiding the post office lineups and wait times...

I've been thinking about buying this one.

Can anyone make a recommendation on a scale, and a price that I should be looking to pay?

I have pondered this myself several times. I know Dain has a scale. I have always thought about getting one but my printer runs through ink fast so I am not sure it would be worth the effort....

I bought a cheap digiweigh scale and it works great. I print at home on the lowest quality setting to save ink.

My scale is also a very simple one, but it only supports up to a few pounds. I'd recommend getting two scales: a postal (non electric) for low weights (~$5 at wal-mart) and a digital one for larger parcels ($10-100+).

My postmaster was showing me a couple of nice digital scales you can buy thru the post office..I would like to have been able to keep some of the nice digital scales I seiezed in drug busts..drug dealers spare no expense when it comes to weighing their dope.

I also use a scale, mainly because I can barely fit the more expensive boxed items in a box under 350g total weight, and if I surpass it I have to pay a little over 2x the shipping cost. I use a digital scale that cost me 12 or 15 euro (on sale), weighs up to 5kg in 1g intervals, and is perfect for me since the most expensive shipping I've had to use up to now has been the 5kg limit (I don't think I'll ever ship anything above that anyway).

seems like to me the weight I come up with never matches with what the post office comes up with
