I am a bit sad with the low participation on this one, I admit.

I had hoped to play along, but it's been a crazy week. I didn't even get time to play the game, let alone practice enough to put up a respectable score.

I guess he's in semi retirement. I really respect his skills. In 2013 I had to go head to head with Tom and guillavoie and in 2015 I had to go one on one with Bert. I might have retired with the gold trophy, but the "human cyborg" pushed me to the limit during my final season and is one of the best gamers I've had the honor of competing against.

So Bea, now that you've cracked both Paperboy games wide open, which would you say you prefer, Paperboy 1 or 2?
 

I really wanted to post a decent score after the crap score I put up last year with Paperboy, but I just got busy. I know there is no excuse, but oh well, there is always next week's game.

Paperboy 2, for sure.
It is a more variated and better balanced game.
At Paperboy you can get unavoidable hazard combos some times, and here you get to play at both sides of the screen, the obstacles are more balanced and easier to predict and avoid/target.
Also, you get to play as Papergirl rather than just Paperboy.

But the SNES port is the best one. The NES one suffers badly from lag.
 

I agree with you on all points. With PB1 I felt that I couldn't really improve. Here I am steadily improving, and having more fun. The scenery is way better, just a way better game, I have to try the snes version now cause the lag is detracting the experience a little bit

Okay, got 9800 first try now I'm pissed and have to do laundry....Could have been the quickest participation score in my history but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoOoOoOoOoOOOOOOOOOOO

They pretty much perfected the formula from Paperboy 1 here.
It is a way better game. I just wish the NES port was better optimized.
But I have been having a lot of fun with this game since a few months ago.
