Looks to be an improvement over Nomolos in every way, good job!

Oooh! Looks neat. The font of the "Inn" instantly reminded me of Crystalis.

I'm very excited about this game! Nomolos was impressive as well. Is this just you or do you have any other people working on it with you?

(And btw, I would pay you money for your custom NES graphics editor)

Man this game looks awesome. So much progress has already been made on the engine, looks almost as if the hard part is nearly over. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Everytime I see your thread I can't help but think of the classic film "My Side of the Mountain."

Great idea, btw. Sounds like A Boy and his Blob. But with an owl. And me drinking beer.

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

I am doing the programming, level design, and music this time around. My wife Laurie is the artist of everything, pixel art, box art, etc. etc. And my old pal Dan is the chief beta tester and gameplay consultant. Gradual Games would not be possible without their help.

Just send me a PM, I'd be happy to share my tools with you, but with the disclaimer that they are hastily written custom tools that do exactly what I need them to do, and sometimes require work arounds for bugs. To make them presentable enough for public release would be an enormous project in and of itself.

This looks excellent for just being a demo/work in progress. Great to see NES homebrew progressing.

I sincerely hope to have all of the core game mechanics and possibly part of the first dungeon done by january. I could show some new stuff in a progress video but there's too much ripped placeholder art right now. Maybe I will have another video in a few months, we'll see.

Original post also updated. Here are some videos of our current progress. I cut out crucial parts which would be story or puzzle spoilers, and there's a lot of stuff not shown (additional owl techniques already programmed, etc.). All video footage is pre-alpha.
