I call BS on this one.

I told him I would bid $1000 if he put a picture in the auction with his name written on a piece of paper next to it. I plan on honoring this if he does, but I doubt it. This just smells so bad of BS.

That's a pic of Bronty's sealed SE. The seller snagged it from the database at this very site. BS indeed...

Even though that one is an obvious fake, I've long speculated that while SE is rare it isn't anywhere near as rare as people make it out to be. It's a perpetual hype machine, every time one sells for some astronomical amount of money, it brings the demand for it up. The reality is, whether there was a recall or not, there is no way Nintendo would have manufactured less than a few hundred of these at the very least as it simply wouldn't have been financially lucrative otherwise. I think that as it becomes more and more known to the common person, we will see a larger amount of them pop up over the years. Not enough to fully meet the demand necessarily but certainly enough that one will be able to be had for under a thousand dollars again one day. The fact that MRN's copy and the CIB that Angel sold on ebay both popped up in a relatively close time frame indicate to me this is going to start happening sooner or later.

On the german one: First I was like LMAO, then I was like...lmao.. because, soon the pal one's will fetch big money also..or not, but then again, the SCN ones (with yellow manual) was sold with few manuals (maybe only half of them)...because Bergsala (they imported nes shizzle in scandinavia) did not have enough manuals.. lol

OK.. this will get crazy the next 10 years

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's Bronty's sealed pic taken from the NA database...

Seems like the people willing to drop 10k on a game would do a little bit of research beforehand.  That is really funny though!

I just did a side by side comparison of the pic in the auction and the pic in the database and they are the EXACT same photo. This is definitely a BS auction.

Well I was just about to post the German one on here. That upsets me that someone will take advantage of the last legit one selling but I guess it's bound to happen. Very tough for me though... on the one hand I think it's up to us as a community to protect people from scammers by emailing eBay or the seller about this. And given the very VERY minimal chance they don't know what they are doing at least having them put PAL or explain the difference somewhere in the auction. But then again on the other hand I think are we the NES world's police force can we stop every uneducated buyer from getting screwed or is it up to the uneducated to get educated? Ugh...

Starting to look like it's time to cash in on my PAL copy while the world at large appears to be having a temporary lapse in sanity.
