Shane, make sure you take a picture of the computer screen.  We don't allow submissions where you hit "Print Screen."

Other than this play through I haven't come close to 50K otherwise, so I'll just take my participation points and call it a week now.

I started on level 7 and it definitely helped improve my score. I tried 8 and 9,but washed out too quick as I'm trying to just go for Tetrises only....or as many as I can get in anyway.

Here's a ~30,000 point improvement over my last score. I took the advice in this thread and started on level 9. I'm actually able to play at this speed when I start at it, before I was getting jarred and panicky whenever I got this high. Would recommend anyone to try this strategy.

edit: new score below, old score 119,465

I am very curious about this. How does it benefit to start on a faster speed? Won't the game become unplayably fast at a quicker rate?

Or, was this a training regimen?

Even if you start at a high level, you still need to get the required number of lines to move on to the next level.  Since he started at level 7, the game stayed at the same speed until he got 80 lines, then it went to level 8.  If you start at level 9, it will stay the same speed until you get 100 lines, at which point you'll go to level 10.  Since you get more points at higher levels, it's best to start at the level with the highest speed you can handle.

I'm either starting on 7 or 6 because I suck too much for 9. Also, I couldn't get past 80K the other day. Gosh I hate this game for competition, I'd prefer having a Tengen Tetris contest one day.

I really dislike the RNG in Tengen Tetris, since it is the only implementation where I've gotten something like 12 square blocks in a row.

But aside from that, for the better players, a round of Tengen Tetris takes hours, versus a round on Nintendo Tetris that takes minutes.
The speeds plane out at dramatically different levels.

Thanks, Red! I'll have to give that a try if I get another chance to play this week.

Phone is broke but I should have a replacement Friday.

Just throwing this out there, I much prefer this version of Tetris over the Tengen Tetris.

I'll get one of the other judges/mods to add it to the rules, but going forward, it would be best to use the "CONGRATULATIONS" high score screen as your picture, rather than the spaceship screen.

Just in case there is any concern/complaint about somebody's score, knowing what level they ended on will be informative as to what is mathematically possible.

I hate this game. Going to be a low score.

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

I have one complaint about this game.

It needs the "angry goat" Tetris sound from the Game Boy version.

I don't mean to clog the thread or anything, but look what happened to me. Is this a glitch that comes up often, not showing the next piece? And for the record, this is an actual cart this time; I picked up a copy yesterday.
