Honestly, this isn't a bad price assuming you plan on jailbreaking it for your own purposes. At this price it's cheaper than trying to make your own PS1 emulator box with off-the-shelf PI parts:

Well at least I saw the trainwreck coming before it got here and knew the $100 was overpriced. I'll still pass at $30 but I admit that is about as low as these can go new (I'd hope?)

Got mine three weeks after launch for $36 thanks to Target's double-discount deal (40% off plus another 40% off). Kinda crazy it dropped that fast even understanding why it failed, but it's also kinda crazy it took this long to beat that deal for those same reasons.

With a best buy Google Express deal I got mine a month or so ago for $33 shipped to my door. No regrets, the mod is stupidly easy and I picked up a beefy thumb drive that's compatible for $5. This is a no-brainer if you're on the fence (unless you really are holding out for cheaper, which I understand)

What does the mod allow you to do?  Put the entire library on it?  How is the mod called?

Checkout bleemsync and autobleem.

Via a USB thumb drive in the second controller port, you can have an additional custom OS with its own PS1 emulator. You can add PSX iso/cue files to the thumb drive and play them from there.

There are some limitations, including that it really should be usb2 (and not usb3) due to power constraints (unless you use a powered hub). Also, because it's recommended you use a FAT partition, your total partition size is limited (I think?)

Once you have a working installation for PS1 games, you can also load and use RetroArch on there, and many of the cores for other systems run just fine on it.
