On their arrival they both basically turned franchises that never had been successful/elite into the model of excellence. They both won their first championship in their 2nd professional season. They both have had the fortune of having the same coach through their entire multi-decade career. They both won multiple championships before going through an extended stretch of not winning any, losing their first championship game/series late in their career, and then winning another title with a largely different group of guys years after the last one. Tom Brady just won his 3rd Super Bowl MVP, Tim Duncan has 3 NBA Finals MVP's. Both have won four titles in the 2000's (Duncan's 5th is from 1999).....I'm sure I could keep going and come up with more and more similarities. Of course Tim Duncan was a sure thing from the draft and Tom Brady was a total unknown, but it's pretty remarkable that they've been in completely different sports but their careers have been quite similar actually!
Never really made the comparison before. The one huge difference that comes to mind is Duncan being the first overall pick, and Brady being a virtually unknown 6th rounder.

They were both playing the ball, that was not PI sorry.

My point is he destroyed him when he hit him before the ball got him. He was working his way to the ball, he was taken out of his path to the ball before it got to him. You're telling me when people are going for the ball you can just hit them when you're going to it and it won't be a interference?

I dont know what your seeing man. In slow motion its nearly simultaneous. Butler has just as much right to the ball. Hir route was straight to the ball. And he didnt go through the receiver or grab him.

Lol not sure if you've noticed but football is a physical game. They both made a play on the ball. The defender wanted it more than the reciever.

Actually our receiver was still wondering why we were throwing it to him and not celebrating the Superbowl back to back victory after handing it off to Lynch!

Definitely a great game, and missed calls both ways. Pats should/could have won by 11. Should have been a whole new set of downs.

Yeah, guess you missed how Brady didn't get called for Intentional Grounding, how when beat across the middle the Cheats DB reached out and tripped the open WR, how Edleman wasn't immediately called to the sideline for the concussion protocol, yet Cliff Avril was on Seattle, and wasn't allowed to return to the game.

More like Seattle should've/could've won by 11...or more.

Congrats, Darell Bevell is your Super Bowl MVP for getting cute with an inside slant instead of pounding the rock 3x down the Deflateriots' throats for the back-to-back titles.

Once again, the Cheatriots escape lucky in another Super Bowl.

LMFAO...You must be talking about a different New England Cheatriots Team, right??

Wait...I still hear footballs deflating. And they have the footage to prove it...wait, Goodell destroyed those tapes, too.

I thought the worse no call was the no PI when the Pats dude fell down and then blatantly grabbed and tripped our receiver. That was a huge moment in the game, would have kept the momentum going our way. But again, woulda shoulda coulda. Fucking pass on the one yard line on 2nd down with a timeout left. Don't deserve to win after that decision.

That non call was so crucial. Would've been 1st and 10 in excellent field position.

That inside slant, or any pass was absolutely STUPID. Had Russell looked Marshawn's way on that pass, however, he was wide open.

Once again though, I've never seen a Team as lucky as the Patriots. The amount of things they get away with in general, combined by dumb luck, is astounding.

Having to live here in Massachusetts with all these uneducated "fans" that didn't exist prior to 2001 (but proclaim they were Pats fans for 205,000 years) is so damn annoying.

But yes, Edleman was the Pats real MVP, not Brady.

Funny you mention that about the hit on Edelman, but not the fact that it should have been flagged for targeting a defenseless receiver. Clearly a high hit and well before the receiver became an active runner.

I'm not a Patriots fan by any means, and even I felt compelled to point out how ridiculously biased you're being. Just sounds like the pathetic, meaningless, harpings of a butt-hurt Patriot hater... If that's what you're going for, then congrats, you nailed it.

The refs let the players play, and for the most part they did a great job. The game was played fast and with few penalties called against either side. I did feel kinda bad for the Hawks until the entire defense decided to pick a fight at the very end. That was a classless act, and it made me feel much better about the thought of them crying on their team flight back to Seattle.

Congrats to all of you Pats fans on the board. Your guys just brought home a well earned Super Bowl victory.

Hey, sounds like the INT wasn't called correctly then either, right? Watch, no better yet, play some football before you talk, dude. There's plenty of replays that show it was a clean, hard hit...but because football has been turned into a game for the women and non-educated, casual observer or those that never played the sport, any hit is now illegal and "unsportsmanlike."

Pretty sad, most of the dudes down in SEC Country actually know football...but when the Kentucky Wildcats is all you got, that might explain it. Guess you could watch Louisville, though.

Blount was a bad ass? Must've not seen the same game as everyone else. Boston is a sports town? LMFAO. Why's that? Because they have a ton of bandwagon fans who think that they Drafted Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and get mad when they go elswhere?

Or better yet, how nobody aside from the Red Sox had any legit fans left until the bandwagon "fans" came along after the Celtics, Sox, Bruins and Pats started winning Titles?

I live here, dude. I speak from experience and living it. You're somewhere in Kentucky and saying all this? LOL.

Wow, okay bud, first off that's between Quest and I from Fantasy Football.

Second off, Born in Leominster, MA back in the 80s.. 4th Generation Red Sox fan, okay. So umm yea, I have TON of family up there, look at the Drop Kick Murphies, umm Boston fans are real and been around. Bandwagon? Please, yea every team has them. I lived in Lexington for years, and I hate UK Fans, but you don't see me calling them Bandwagon. Boston has a CRAP ton of fans around the country and not bandwagon fans.

Red sox fans, yea I am one of the Diehards and I know a lot more.. The family tree there and friends, are a lot in boston, so please don't say you live there and think it's a bunch of fake fans. Do we curse our teams YEA we do, but so does everyone else. When you live through what the sox went through and trust me the Pats SUCKED for years and still loved them.

So yea I am in KY saying this, but I am from there, want to continue to laugh about it? If you had Mass, then get out. Easy.

That play is completely irrelevant to anything I said, but if you want my opinion, the correct "no-call" was made. Clean interception. Both players had a right to make a play on the ball.

As for "playing" football to know it, only someone grasping at straws would bring that up in an arguement. You have no idea what sports I have/haven't played. Neither can you assert that someone who has played the game posesses more knowledge than someone who hasn't. Just as Donovan McNabb what the OT rules are in a regular season game. Prime example of a player at the professional level who hasn't a clue, meanwile several armchair QB's across the country know it to the letter. (What I'm telling you, is that was a very stupid point for you to make)

Regardless of my standing on what level of violence should be allowed as legal contact, by the rule as it is today, that hit is worthy of a flag. It wasn't thrown, no skin off my back. The only problem I have is when you list every questionable call for one side and act as if it didn't go both ways. Is it a big deal? No. It just makes you just sound pathetic, which is again, no skin off my back.

Then there's this sorry ass attempt at an insult - "Pretty sad, most of the dudes down in SEC Country actually know football...but when the Kentucky Wildcats is all you got, that might explain it. Guess you could watch Louisville, though."

You have no idea where my allegences lie, nor do you know where I hail from. You just see where I'm currently living. Congratulations, again, in sounding ignorant and utterly pathetic.

Yeah your right, me either.  Oh, except for 2 weeks ago when the Seahawks beat GB, despite throwing 4 picks, and recovering an onsides kick.  That is perhaps the "luckiest" win of recent memory.

New England could be a cold-hearted cynic like you... but New England don't like to hurt people's feelings. Well, you think what you want about New England; New England's not changin'. I like... Wait...I still hear footballs deflating. And they have the footage to prove it...wait, Goodell destroyed those tapes, too.

Okay clearly you need to be educated. I cant even tell if youre trolling or not.

Lets start from the top.

Tuck rule. We are constantly harassed for Cheating. This rule already existed in the league. In fact the first time it was called was AGAINST the pats, and we lost to the jets because of it. But pats haters want to constantly say we cheated as if we made the rule ourselves.

Spygate. EVERY TEAM was filming plays. We just got caught and made an example out of. We were SEVERELY punished for it and have tried to move on. If you know anything about the game you would know players are known to bite and stomp on fingers in dog piles. Theres alot that goes on from EVERY team that can be considered questionable. Football is FAR from a Clean fair sport.

DeflateGate, according to multiple sources the balls were only a few decimals shy of the 11.5 minimum only 1 ball Was suspiciously low. Which means if brady likes a 11.5 ball and the weather conditions are like they were, the ball WILL deflate and be under the limit. There is also no record of the balls being measured pre game for either team. Its also been documented that other qbs like them over filled like aaron rodgers. And if you think the pats actually think they would need to deflate a football by an amount that wouldnt effect the ball at all, When they have as much talent as they do then i feel bad for you.

Per usual blown out of proportion.

Also you talk about how the pats were lucky!!??? Seriosuly? Did you not see kearses lucky hail mary catch 2 minutes before.

Or how about all the supebowls We lost to fluke passes like the ones against the Giants.

You say you are from MA. Please leave we don't want you here.

It's hard to call a team that's gone to 6 Superbowls in 15 years lucky. Trust me, I hate the Pats as much as the next guy, but they're the best organization in the league.

Yeah Seattle should have won last night, but they didn't, just like Green Bay should have won 2 weeks ago and they didn't.

NFL football is the ultimate example of unexpected shit happening, if you don't like it, go watch something more predictable, like women's soccer.
