This month's game: Super Mario Kart
Rules

• Select Time Trial.  You will need to submit times for the following tracks
• Ghost Valley 1
• Mario Circuit 3
• Bowser Castle 3
• Vanilla Lake 2
• Rainbow Road
• You will need to submit 5 different pictures, each from race's end.  Do not submit scores from the track selection screen.  Please also put all 5 pics in the same post.
• Your final time will be the cumulative results of the 5 tracks.  Anyone who cannot submit times for all 5 tracks can still earn participation credit for partial submissions
• If it helps you keep track of your best scores easier, your save data can be erased by starting up the game and then pressing L + R + A + X + Y.  This will re-lock the Special Cup
• Unlocking the Special Cup is done by placing 1st in the first three cups on 50CC and 100CC
• The Special Cup can also be unlocked by the following method:  Go to Time Trial or 2P Match Race, put the cursor on Mushroom Cup and press: L,R,L,R,L,L,R,R,A. You will need to input this each time you turn the system on, but your times will keep

Guys, please use this thread for Super Mario Kart going forward. You may re-post your scores in this thread and update that, or you can continue to use your original post.  Consolidating everything will be on me.

C'mon guys we need more participants!

Growing pains, but it's getting there.  I have tons of great ideas for next year too

 

If I had the games, I would participate.

 

I tried to specifically target less expensive titles in general, and added the ability to drop one game each year so as to relieve those demands even more.

Next year will be the same.  There will be one very expensive title at the end of the year so people have time to set up a way to play it, a few moderately expensive titles that most people already have (hint, Konami brawler), and then a bunch of cheap titles.

I have a score I got last week but I haven't posted it yet. It was the second time to ever play this game and the first time to play most of the tracks. I'll try to post it tomorrow,but it sucks. Haha.

I will post a score for this one, but it probably won't be until closer to the end of the contest.

I'm going to play at some point too but it will just be for participation cred. I haven't been all that excited to play Super Mario Kart.

Next year I'll probably do a year-end tournament like the NES thread so people don't feel hopelessly behind

 

I will definitely be getting some scores up for this at some point. I got an OK time on Ghost Valley, but haven't put any time in on the others. My gaming time almost always falls really late at night, so grinding out times for Mario Kart doesn't always appeal to me at 1 or 2 am. I will be getting some times up for sure though.

I have to create some more room between me and the competition as a couple games coming up I have little or no experience in. UN Squadron being one. Hopefully we get some more times for Mario Kart. I know there were a bunch of people that joined Super Punch Out! late last month.

UN Squadron is one of the games I might actually be motivated enough to try and beat you all

There is still a difference of 15 seconds, it's very hard to catch up with him.

When I look at my over 20 year old records, it's absolutely possible to get there, but I'm far away from beeing as good as I was then.
