This is why I just casually snag loose Atari and don't give a crap about boxes or manuals

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

I commented on that in another thread, but other than that it's pretty accurate.

And technically it DID sell, it just wasn't PAID.  However, 5 minutes of research would've turned that tidbit up anyway, so it's hardly a defense, just a technicality

its not a sale without a payment. but I'm not so sure someone didn't snag it privately. the seller needed the money yet we haven't seen it relisted, that tells me that a sale may (or may not) have gone through. I don't think we can really assume one way or the other without doing some further research ourselves

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!

^ exactly. I think it sold, maybe not to the top bidder, but it didn't sell for much less.

this will happen every time there's a quantum leap in prices and press coverage. I'm sure it won't be the last time some crazy shit comes out of the woodwork after a big sale

Another Air Raid, albeit loose this time:

I wonder if the guys over at AA are dealing with the SE effect with all the recent news/hype.
