It seems like a lot of people now are getting into NES collecting just to get the rare games and then throw them on eBay and make a quick buck.

I just think it's an invasion of the purity of the NES community. Sure, all collectors will sell some of their stuff eventually, but I just think it's wrong that people who have never even played an NES (or have no interest in it anymore) are buying these games as a way of getting money.

QFT.

However, this isn't new. Any "purity" has been gone for years now, I'd say once the army of resellers slowly started getting into it hardcore around 2005/6 or so.

I'm just glad my NES collection is just about done. I don't envy anyone trying to start out at this point with all the amount of BS that goes on in the game collecting world today.

ant: that dude might be trying to sell it to get the money to pay for it. Someone tried to do that with my Moonwalker arcade game when I put it up back the hour Michael Jackson passed...

Alright, I don't blame the PAL owners for trying to make a quick buck, but I can't believe all these high bids for them.

Stuff like this really makes me want to say to hell with collecting in general. I had to hear more about the game selling this weekend at my flea market than I EVER care to again.

Surely I'm not the only one sick of it?

Not even close. Feedback is from all private users with 1 and 2 built just to list this fake auction after one day.

I think everyone just looked over the one that actually DID have a US box that DID sell yesterday which looks to be a new one found...

I knew there were more out there, but so far I've only seen one legit one come up on eBay with box since the $13K auction.

I really have to laugh about all this SE stuff because this is what happens when you hype up stuff too much and it gets out of hand, now everyone gets to deal with this mess, but if anything good comes out of it, more boxes will come out of the woodwork ...

Holy crap!
Looks legit to me as well. It might be very plausible someone wanted $5000 for a copy without the manual after seeing the 13k auction.
I wonder who got this wonderful shot...

Indeed Dream, all that talk about the Stadium Events auction, on yahoo and all the tra la la, might just bring more attention to those old and dirty videogames lying in the attics. It is just normal a few legits come out of the process, I guess.
