^Yeah. Up until very recently, I was a rabid NWC collector with one of the largest memorabilia sets out there. I've paid tons for random NWC stuff, but 1k for that controller is an absolute gift from that potential buyer. There's no way I would have justified it, even as invested into NWC as I was. You should jump on that for sure before they change their mind.

I bet it's a Matchbox or Micro Machine...

Good luck with the sale! Awesome item - it's been featured over at Gamesniped.com as well.

I say it is worth its weight in gold. The shell (the only part that matters) weighs an ounce. So I will offer you one ounce of gold in the form of two 1881 $10 gold eagle Liberty Head coins ( appr. 1/2 troy oz. gold each ). With gold over $1300 an ounce , you do the math. As per your original post..... a wednesday decision.... my offer is good until wednesday ends. Please acknowledge on this thread. If someone beats that offer, you should accept it !! Please keep in mind, you will have to ship first. (and for those of you who are curious,... yes, I bought these coins when gold was under $300 per ounce !!! sweet, sweet, sweet).

Its kind of hard to "jump" on an offer, sort of being in uncharted territory with the rarity of the item. I'm sure there was a time when $1000 for an NWC cart would have seemed like a gift or no-brainer too. All I can really do is play it by ear and wait to hear back from the interested parties. I would also like for it to have a good home, and for a trouble free transaction... there are so many variables. I've even got requests from people who want it put on ebay specifically - don't know if its a good thing or a trap, lol. I appreciate the feedback and help!

EarlyWorm - While in a lot of cases I'd entertain unusual offers or trades, in this case I have to raise usable money for specific purposes. Whether its a coin or a car (even a nice one) it won't help me to do what I need like cash money will... Really sorry, but thank you for the offer and consideration.

I was just trying to help keep you grounded in reality with my comment so please don't take it as anything but some advice from a relevant collector. If I wanted it, nobody here would top my offer as I spent freely on my nwc set. That said, I just sold sold my jumpsuit and got far fewer good offers than you would expect for something I think you would agree is equally as rare and desireable. From my experience here and elsewhere, people tend to talk alot of shit until its time to pay the bill. I understand what you mean about the cart appreciating, but this piece will never have that kind of status. Many of the people making the offers I got on my NWC collection wanted me to part the cart out because they aren't even interested in the memorabilia. Your selling to a very niche market with this.

I didn't mean to make it sound like I had some kind of huge expectations for it to go for an exorbitant amount. Within the first couple of offers, was enough to cover my immediate needs so I feel like the rest is bonus, but I don't want to regret it later by taking the first offer people think is good enough. I offered my Panic Restaurant cart a couple months back and while I could have taken the first offers people thought were a no brainer - I ended up putting it on ebay and making double that, so I believe a bit of patience and good decision making can be worthwhile, and as I said there are other factors desirable in the deal other than money as well.

I agree with the panic restaurant thing for sure. I was just trying to impart that kinda having an idea of the market for this stuff from following it for years as well as my very recent sales, 1k is a fantastic offer for such a niche item. I'm not trying to beat you up, just give you a relevant buyer's perspective. I'm sure you'll have no trouble getting alot more than the $1 it cost nintendo to produce it so you already win.

EarlyWorm, your offer was great but I don't understand why not just offer $1100 and sell the coins for $1400? You get to keep a couple hundred for yourself!

Gold for a gold #1(weight in gold)pad to match my #2 gold pad to play my gold nwc on my AV top-loader.....you have to see the cool in that!! It's not always just the money.... Thats why I asked for a public reply
And this does not mean I have ruled out making an offer. I just really wanted to make a statement....... it would have been sooooo coooool.

EarlyWorm, I understand your way of thinking, that is pretty cool. I respect taking actions that have more meaning than what is on the surface! Nice statement You have a gold #2 pad?

Thanks skylerz x__x. But its not over yet!

Update for Thursday morning: only a slight change in the last day. The top 2 offers currently are at $1,000 - one with more favorable shipping terms for me. I would like to mention the generous coins worth $1300+ offer, but alas, I can only use cash for the time being.

Later today (Thursday) I'll do a "last call" update around 5pm PST with a 6pm PST end (pending any real-time rebuttals), at which time I'll decide if I'll go with a current offer or list it on ebay. Thanks again to those following this, and I will check in later!

Think about jumping down the pipe....collecting two gold coins......running to the flag. I know you're still thinking about it.
I just know you are.
You really need these coins.
Just say the word.....

none of my business doug, but since he needs cash, cant you sell them for around 1400 yourself (i saw 2 completed listings) then offer what you get after fees? time is short, but those coins look like they sell at a consistent price.

If EarlyWorm is serious about the gold coin offer, and Chris is serious about accepting $1100, I'll personally broker that deal in a heartbeat, so that you both get what you're asking for.

2 of those gold coins currently up for auction as a set together. Both circulated, would be fun to watch to see what they bring at auction Less than 3 days left as well.

It would get a little complicated when counteroffers come in if its brokered or traded via proxy... but in theory if I do end up listing it on ebay, it would be a 10 day auction. Its completely feasible to list the coins at the same time ending sooner, get paid for them and have paypal balance ready to go, to bid. But you would have to be fairly certain you want to sell them. If you won, everyone would see how it played out for the bragging rights. Downside is ebay makes money they don't deserve (yet again :/)
