That's pretty cool. If there is one out there I hope it gets dumped.

Holy cow, that's amazing! I wonder what levels and characters they were planning on having available.

I think the fact we're learning about this just now means it never got really far in development.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

Well, there was something out there for us to get a screenshot. Unless it was purely a mock up of what the game would look like. We've gotten alpha and beta level stuff before. Then someone could always toy with what's there and complete the game in some capacity.

Awesome! Is this a screenshot of a planned predecessor to Street Fighter II, or the 8-bit version of the 16-bit game? I found a screenshot of what clearly looks to be an 8-bit version of Street Fighter II a while back and meant to post about it, too (see attachment). Hopefully a proto surfaces at some point...

That's a screenshot of a planned port of Street Fighter 1.

Hi that's me

This was in a digital marketing archive that Capcom sent us to use in the 30th Anniversary collection, mislabeled as a SNES SF2 screenshot. Typically these were the screenshots used for promotional material, but as far as I know they never produced any for Street Fighter.

We knew about this game's existence for a long time now, and its programmer confirmed that it was finished. It was ported from the C64 version he also did.

Did he relay any information about why it was canceled?
