Alright so Game X is this weekend in Oaks Pa.  I set up a booth there and turns out the show sucks so im not getting much business.   So i hooked up a SNES and started going through Super Mario World.   I started a new game this morning and i beat everything and got only 90.   I have my original save file still on the cartridge from when i was younger.  It has *96.   As far as i know there is no 100%.  *96 is 100%.  Or maybe im wrong maybe there is 100%.  But all i know is that i have one file that has a 96 and a star in front of it, a file with 91 and no star, and the file i started to that has a 90 and no star.  I loaded up the *96 and looked at the map and i have the same exact paths unlocked on all my files.  So why are they all different numbers?

You get that if you go to all the exits of the stages.  This includes the Star Road ones.  Those stages have 2 exits, although the standard ones simply take you nowhere, you still need to get those.

I can't remember, sadly (after playing maybe 50 times) if the bonus roads like "groovy" count as percentages. I think they do, if I remember correctly, and that you can get over 100? Maybe not, that's just how I remember it

*96 is as far up as it goes. SMW doesn't count in percentages, they show the actual number of exits you've used in the game. I'm pretty sure the star means you're playing the trippy version where all of the koopas have mario heads.

winner winner chicken dinner. Exactly right. *96 is the max and unlocks the koopas with mario heads.

I hate when you play through and somehow miss one level. As mentioned earlier, it usually is the star road that causes the issue. You have made me want to play it again. I may have to get a quest going tomorrow.

I have the mario heads a 94 exits now. Two more to go and i kind fin them. You get the mario heads for completing the special area. I went back to all the star roads and exited the regular way with the goal not the key and i still need two more exits. Its driving me crazy

There are a couple of levels in Forest of Illusion that have multiple exits. You can't tell if you get them, because they make the same road as other levels when completed. These are the ones I missed last time I went for the *.

If I can remeber right,  the first stage in forest of illusion has a 2nd exit that links to the ghost house, and I think that ghost house has a 2nd exit that links back to that stage. And isn't there a ghost house with 3 exits?

Also, its not that you just unlock mario head koopas when you complete the speal star road place. The season of the entire world changes to fall.

if your maps are the same on both, it's definitely a path you need over an existing path, THERE IS ONE OR TWO OR THESE IN THE FORREST!!!, also, most people don't know this, but when you look at the levels, if it blinks yellow it has one exit, and if it blinks red it has two, this only leaves the ghost houses in question since they don't blink, the red blinking one in the forrest next to a ghost house has second exit and so does the ghost house paved over the same path!, you must do both exits, I would imagine this is one your missing

All I need is an F'n Myriad and an F'n NWC!!!!!
