I wouldn't even think twice. My response would be when can I get them? Amazing, just amazing.

Thank you for your kind words and encouraging comments!

How strange that this thread would resurface at a time like this. I was just about to make a quick thread about another kiosk I acquired. I suppose it would only be appropriate that I reuse this one.

EDIT: The picture has been moved to the original post.

Would you be at all offended if I said I hated your guts and wanted you to die in a fire?

Not at all Retromancer. Though I will be installing a few more smoke detectors in the coming week. Also, a call to my home insurance company seems overdue.

Those are all pretty cool... nice grabs! I dig that DS kiosk's color scheme.

Bought a GBA SP kiosk and made a mount for it. See original post.

I've updated this thread to chronicle my quest for store display kiosks.
I've included the kiosks that I aquired prior to starting this thread as well.
Here's hoping I find more awesome kiosks going forward!

It was listed on my local Craigslist for a while. The seller initially wanted several hundred dollars, but he eventually knocked the price down drastically. Apparently, he was getting ready to move and didn't have space to take it with him. In the end, we agreed on $50 for the unit. It works very well and is in overall great condition. I should really get some more games for it though.

There's a guy on ebay selling many of those as one sells another goes up, right down to the game inside too. I keep wanting to nab it but the fact it can't stand on its own stops me. That was a good move on your part but I couldn't fabricate that as I have no tools to do so.

Make me one! That's a really nice kiosk overall, nicer than the tabletop one I think at times too.

While I'd certainly like to help you out by making another kiosk base, I unfortunately lack the skill to do so. My father is the one responsible for building it. He got the parts from his workplace and used the tools available there. While it only took him a short while to put it together, I doubt I could convince him to repeat the process. He used parts from the kiosk for measurement, so he'd have to dissasmble it again if he were to make another one.

If you are interested in the kiosk, the seller still has many remaining units to sell. I'm sure as demand is met, the price will start to drop. I got mine for $175, which was the reserve price and the lowest sold so far, but I'm sure the price will drop below that before the last unit is shipped.

There is a switch on the back of the Japanese Sega Saturn console. I thought it was an on/off switch, similar to what you find on the PS3, but I was oh so wrong. Turns out, the console has been modded to play both NTSC and NTSC-J games. That find is a gift that just keeps on giving.

Im guessing house of the dead had you jumping for joy? I would be jumping for lunacy however, that game is seriously hard to find complete with map.

Damn that is some nice Saturn stuff.

Ya lunacy can be tough, although it does come in waves - late last year there were a bunch popping up, i even managed to get a sealed one at auction for a great price. Meanwhile, the earlier parts of 2013 lunacy was mostly vacant!

Good luck with importing some saturn stuff! There are so many great games, so many! Unfortunately many are going up.. still, some great ones to grab for not a bad price. Check out Soukyugurentai. I believe it's still relatively cheap, and it's visually quite impressive.

Also, check out this website for lots of great impressions on japanese games

BTW; Of course you made sure that the Daytona wasn't a netlink?
