I just ordered my AVS and I'm super excited about it. I've seen nothing but great reviews of it. So how's everybody like it so far? and about how long did it take for you to get it?

I was part of the first round of preorders, so they were still in China at the time.

I love it, except for one cart it works and works fantastic.

I pre-ordered as well. I'm guessing now they won't take more than a week to come in.

I love it. I haven't had any carts not work yet. Scoreboard makes you want to play more. I have repeated something KHAN said a few times: I haven't had this much fun with the NES since childhood.

I think it's great. I've had minimal issues with it and thinknit looks and runs fantastic on my TV.

It's a sweet piece. Very convenient (crt can be a pain).

1 issue for me. I swear it's a tic off. Playing the same game (mm6) side by side my NES/trinitron I'm better on the NES. Maybe it's a comfort thing. Maybe placebo effect, idk. But ive noticed it on a few games actually.

I've never scored/played better on the avs over the NES (mighty bomb Jack, mm6, palamedes).

What's the one game that doesn't work?  Let me guess, it has the green stripe?

Xexyz, and no, no green strip.

My green strip Tetris does work if I insert it left side first.

Wonder why Xexyz doesn't work?

And I love my AVS by the way.  It plays everything I throw at it.  I really like that it plays famicom carts with the extra audio sound.

It works for a few seconds and then locks up. Game works fine on an NES, clone, etc. It's probably something in the game and the AVS firmware not getting along.

Worked for a few seconds longer, then froze the AVS up.

I reported it to support, and they (Brian, I presume) are looking into it.

I've really been wanting to get one but i can't seem to justify owning an original nes and the avs at the same time, and yet i also can't justify selling my original nes for the avs
It seems so cool though!

Try the mudosko method (smb3) on the avs. That's when I first felt like it was a tic off.

Oh I know, I do not mean to disagree. Bunny has posted some videos showing there is indeed lag. He calculated out what kind of difference it makes. I just know that I cannot notice the difference. Perhaps I have just not played enough different games to notice.

I also think the games I know like the back of my hand are more forgiving on timing. Mario jumps (especially when flying through a level on muscle memory) would be more subject to error due to lag.

My own fault I suppose, could have done more/better research. Anyway when I purchased the avs I was under the impression there was no lag. It's minuscule at most but I noticed it the first time I played smb3.

The avs is a really nice piece. And im knit picking. Casual players will never notice. I only notice on games, like you said, I have memorized completely or demand very exact timing. MTPO

I did, but I think the controller I was using wasn't the greatest.   Took me over 2 minutes to beat Glass Joe.

Had no problems with Arkanoid and the Vaus controller thought.

There is no lag out of the console, but there is lag added by your TV.  How much that is depends on the specific tv and it's settings.

How do I know what tv is best? Is there a tv that does not add lag?

Is there a chart somewhere?

I turned off most/all of the post processing my TV does to the signal and I don't notice any lag. I not hit MTPO a couple days ago without issue. I did notice lag even when I had my TV on game mode, originally.
