COMPLETION IS THE KEY TO PLACE THIS WEEK
Anyone that can complete the 5 stages in Legendary Wings will give themselves a great chance to jump up in points
The contest mods threw a curveball at our contestants this week after a grueling week of Black Box Baseball. Legendary Wings a top progress/low score contest.
Many players have been focusing on ways to keep their scores as low as possible, but it seems some have forgotten that progress in the game is what's most important.
Legendary Wings is a short game. It offers 5 (2-part) stages that are each finished up with a boss.
With so many players getting caught in the web of low scoring, others have vaulted ahead throwing points to the wind in an effort to get a little bit further in the game
and in the standings.
As of this writing, 5 players have completed all 5 stages and have set themselves up for a big jump in the points standings.
They are...
1. bertsampson [GAME COMPLETED] - 71,100pts.
2. skinnygrinny [GAME COMPLETED] - 73,100pts.
3. Brock Landers [GAME COMPLETED] - 81,400pts.
4. ToxieRules [GAME COMPLETED] - 127,200pts.
5. Richardhead [GAME COMPLETED] - 223,200pts.
The next 3 spots are up for grabs to anyone who can survive the 5 stages.

NORTH VS. SOUTH/ ROOKIE VS. VETERAN / GRINDER VS. GRINDER
When two competitors that never back down meet... who wins?
NA Contest veteran skinnygrinny is a tough as nails competitor and has been known for years as "The Grinder."
Skinny's play style is similar to the movie character Rocky Balboa. Both Skinny and Balboa win through hard work, practice and grit.
Given enough time, skinny can usually muscle a game to bend to his will and his scores at the end of each week are normally a testament to this.
Skinny is currently in 2nd place overall behind points leader (and human cyborg) bertsampson.
But skinny is finding that hew is not alone in the grinder category anymore.
Contest newcomer ToxieRules is developing a similar reputation of being a grinder - and is starting to be mentioned in the same breath as the highly regarded veteran skinnygrinny.
Toxie entered the contests late into Week 6 and has blazed up the leaderboards - placing each week he has submitted a score.
The raccus Canuck has even managed to get involved in the rivalry of the Colorado 3 Amigos... drawing the attention of Richardhead, JamesRobot and SuperJimtendo.
He has a great personality, but it's been his play style and performance that has been turning heads the most.

Even with missing the first 5 weeks of the season, Toxie finds himself in elite company.
Fighting through back pain, boos, and starting from behind - he is making a big splash and everyone is starting to take notice.
...but could he ever out grind The Grinder?
Could ToxieRules and skinnygrinny be setting themselves up for an epic showdown in the playoffs?
Fans of the contests would lose their shirts if the American Rocky and the Canadian Rocky ever had to go toe to toe for survival in the playoffs.
But at the regular season's end... who will the Master Grinder be?
Can both contestants possibly keep up this pace?

RASH OF HOME INVASIONS MAY POSSIBLY BE EXPLAINED
World's Greatest(?) T-Shirt Collection is at the center of "Chumpstain Trio" feud
Contest participant Richardhead (currently in 5th place overall with 44 points) has had a bizzare rivalry with crosstown rivals JamesRobot and SuperJimtendo that has spanned almost this entire season.
Fans of the NA Championship have been witness to trash talking, theft, home break-ins, unsavory foreign relations, hacked secruty systems, destruction of private property and even alleged public urination
in an epic battle for Colorado surpemecy that has pulled in numerous other contestants from time to time over the past 12 weeks.
In the last 3 weeks in particular, NA members JamesRobot, SuperJimtendo and even Florida resident skinnygrinny have all allegedly been inside the home of Richardhead, but many fans were left asking "why"?
Well, The Santa Weekly News Update may have uncovered that reason.
A conversation between TWarwick07 and ToxieRules uncovered the first hint.
A rare and desired t-shirt depicting an 8-bit likeness WWE wrestler John Cena was the topic of discussion when Richardhead chimed in with visual proof that the item was in his possession.
Producing such a rare item at will stunned onlookers, but perhaps that was just a coincidence?
Any assumptions that this was a coincidence went out the window when a short time later, Richardhead attempted to get into the head of The Grinder skinnygrinny when Mr. Head produced another photo of a vintage T-shirt
emblazoned with skinny's alter ego - Cobra Kai.
Some weeks, skinny takes on this alter ego by giving out false information and with holding moster scores until the 11th hour.
A t-shirt of such rarity can only be in the possesion of a world class collector.
Mr. Head also made the mistake of photographing an entire stack of rare t-shirt relics in the same pic.
His secret is now out.
Are these rare t-shirts the center of the rivalry?
Is there a secret vault that has been mistakingly disclosed?
How many more times will JamesRobot's car be peed on?
Why are there old guys humping a pile of trash this week?
...perhaps we still do not have all the answers.

GHOST OF BATTLETOADS LOOMS IN THE BACKGROUND OF THE CONTESTS
Interesting observation to keep an eye on
This is just a short observational note for later, but mbd39's conversation with Brock Landers this week has again called out the looming spectre of the feared NES classic Battletoads.
For at least a month now, more than a handful of players have mentioned they have been practicing for this game - one that is mentioned in legends for it's difficulty level.
I think I remember that arnpoly and another contest gladiator were able to tame this beast in the past, but the amount of attention this game is getting is interesting to me.
Are people that afraid of this monster?
It'll be extremely entertaining to see what Battletoads has in store - and what scoring system will be used to determine the victor.
This game has been in the back of almsot everyone's minds.
