The game isnt easy on 1 life. You get fucked by marble randomization easily on some levels. Ive gotten to close to 30th stage. Score only around 4+ million. I fully understand teh point system. There are 2-3 levels that build your score up. Point farming is lame imo. You are sitting there anti playing the game for points. I really wish the rules were altered for this game. Its just not playing the game in the spirit it was created.

I think you're the only one really playing right now lol. Competition for 1st is pretty much over. No one seems to want to try.

That's where I'm at. Clearing stages is fun but now that this is all about point farming it's lost its fun. Sad days

Thoughts on changing Bust-A-Move to a progress contest, with high score being the tiebreaker? I know what quest and Gloves think, what about everyone else?

I really hate to change things halfway through, or pull a bait-and-switch on Gloves or anyone else who was enjoying themselves. But I agree in that it seems far less enjoyable. Far.

I'm new so I don't expect my opinion to weigh much. But point farming is just no fun on a game like this. I would say a progress contest would be best in a case like this. I think there are less people involved that enjoy sitting around, point farm instead of clearing levels.

And I do apologize again. As the NES guys will attest, it can be hard to catch everything, like when I broke Rollergames last year. Especially when I have to scramble to find the time to test everything this year.

I've said from the beginning of the month that I think it should be a progress / point scoring system. I've got to around level 60 before getting screwed by the marble randomizing but didn't post a score because it barely cracked 10 million points.

Well, the feedback in here and what I've received privately has been unanimous for a change. I'll PM every competitor to ensure they are aware too

Damn it I have a name! xD

I've not played Nintendo in a long time, but I've been a serious competitor for a number of years on the Playstation side of things. Here's my trophy profile for reference:

Thanks for writing. I apologize for the delay in responding to your email during this busy time of year.
In regard to your email, it is great to hear that you have found a copy of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. Perfect dark was a first person shooter game that was released in May of 2000. I personally enjoyed this game a lot during my mid-teen years since it allows for up to four players to play at one time. All the Perfect Dark cartridges were black.

I hope this information is what you are looking for.

-
Response I received from Nintendo customer support when I asked if they knew any thing about a black Perfect Dark cart.

Nothing like an absolutely awful mistake to ruin an otherwise solid run. Killed by a bubble! It gets very repetitive playing through the first loop just to get to the hard part. I might have to settle for second this month.

Thanks! I've figured out how to do the first 35 or so levels pretty consistently, with about 75% or so of the levels being a 1.3m score or more. I know I can beat the game, just wanna make sure I get as far as I can with a decent score.

I was actually getting a little stressed out near the end. I didn't expect the final boss to be that pathetic. That was the only let down of the game. The rest was pretty awesome.

Updated my scores again. I didn't expect them to shoot as much as they did and died right away. I'm still pumped to make it through that game. It was tough as balls

Fun fact: The last level is actually the BODY of the final boss, Bacterian. You COULD say that the entire level is the boss fight! ;P
