Decided I'd take a trip to a certain Salvation Army in Dalton, GA today... Previously there, I'd nearly picked up a barebones SNES for $10, before seeing an Odyssey (not an O2, either) with 8 games, both controllers, TV switch box, and the two dice for a whopping $2.99.

Today, though, it wasn't nearly as great, but possibly worth mention:

Genesis model 2, barebones, near-mint: $2.99. Ms. Pac-Man NES (Tengen version), ex-rental, cart with one of those ugly translucent yellow hard cases: 99c.

A n64 is worth around $35, and first party controllers are worth $10-20, if you can save them for Christmas.

Now they're not worth very much at all.

Nancy and I are going game hunting today. I don't get to do it very often, so I'm very excited. Last time we went, I scored 40 boxes for $30 from a guy who's a regular seller at the flea market. He knows me, knows what those boxes are worth, but is smart in the sense that he knows that people where he's at won't pay more for them so he dumped them off to me, and to him, it was an easy $30. To me, it was score city, considering some of the boxes were Bubble Bobble, Zelda (1st version), MTPO, Balloon Fight (hangtab, not torn), G&G, Metal Gear, Pro Wrestling, Super C and a bunch of others. I'm hoping he has more today, and this time I'm taking in a few popular games to trade instead of spending cash. I figure a few Zelda's or MTPO's would get any additional boxes he has.

So I went back to the flea market today with my girlfriend. The usual people were there charging way too much. One lady tried giving me Wizardry for $15. I laughed.

We walked around some more and came across some dude that didn't have a single game, but he had this. I talked him down to $20 from $25.

It included the Super Mario Bros. Deluxe game. He didn't have the key to open the back of the unit, so I can't change the game, but I still think it's a good deal. Everything works, and it came with both the AC power adapters.

I am new to the forums here but have been collecting NES for a couple years. I had a good find yesterday that I wanted to share with some people that dig the NES also. I went to a number of thrifts and found a clean copy of Sqoon with box, styro and sleeve, no instructions for $4.95. Also found Crazy Climber for $1.95. A rare lucky day in the mines.

Love it... my parents had two of those when I was just a little kid almost too young to figure out how to play it. I remember they sold them and a safeway sack full of games and controllers and stuff at a garage sale for like $5. Wish they still had it... I remember the controllers with the spin nob on the top and the trigger button... Classic!!

Well I had not been to the Ortiz flea market in a while so I decided to stop by this morning, diddn't find anything but on my way out I saw something sitting on a table that caught my eye, a Virtual Boy! I asked the guy if it worked and he said yea try it out, turned it on and surprisingly both of the screens worked. I ask him how much and he said $20, so I took it. Not bad for a working system with the eyepiece and 2 games.

Wow, good Saturday for me at the yard sales:

Nintendo NES w/cords (no controller) - $7
CIB Sega Game Gear, Battery Pack, and Sonic 2 - $5

20 NES-era Nintendo Powers (including #1, and 4 player guide) $.10 each totaling $2
Pokemon Red Strategy Guide thrown in for FREE

15 loose Nintendo 64 Games (no sports) - $1 each totaling $15
N64 Adaptor Wonder, Game Shark, and NES Game Genie thrown in for FREE
10 CIB Playstation Games (no sports) $.50 each for $5
4 CIB Sega Genesis games (3/4 are sports titles) $.50 each for $2

Also when I got home I had 2 eBay packages waiting for me to be opened, including some more of those Gamecube demos and a N64 console with some games (including Pokemon Snap NFR version) that I bought from DreamTR.

VERY freaking good day for me!

All this stuff ended up running me less than $40 total:

I had my best day of local pick up in a long long time. Today I snagged:
4 CIB NES games for 1.99 each. Cabal, Ironsword, Smash TV, and Silent Service.
CIB Uninvited for 9.99
12 clear Gameboy cases for .25 each
about 20 CIB Genesis games for .25-.99 each, most were .25
Gameboy hint guide for 1.99

Pretty nice haul of stuff, I was very happy with it. Most the Genesis stuff is sports titles but for .25 each I figured why not. Everything is up for sale unless I decided to hang on to the Sega stuff for a start to another collection.
