Things are still moving forward, slowly, and I'm still hoping for an April release of some sort, LE and RE. Illness in the household as really slowed down my progress over the past month. I really hope that more than the 5 people that read these updates are excited for this game. I've done my best to ensure that this is a quality release and have spent a portion of 18 months working on this title. I do fear that the requirement of the Power Pad and the outside accessories (cornbags) may detour people from wanting to play the game, but I assure you, it is a LOT of fun and has a lot of replayability. The Story Mode alone could take hours to complete (unless you cheat!) and requires you to hone your bag tossing skills. Here are some features that I have included in the game: Achievements, Unlockable Characters, Unlockable Music, Story Mode, Mulitplayer Mode, Free Play of any level after you beat Story Mode, Flash Saving, 7 Different Styles of Game Play, and a built in Rules section for each game. And I must say, the sound track alone is incredible thanks to Zi. That alone is worth beating the game!

Game testing is nearly completed. There have been no game-breaking bugs found in weeks. The only changes that have been made are grammar\spelling and minor tweaks to some graphics and screens. Your basic last minute polishing. I've also been hard at work on the LE's. I'm really hoping you guys like these as a lot of thought and time has gone into them. These will be truly unique and great quality!

I'm are still waiting on some parts and materials to arrive. I'm really hoping to have stuff in before April so a final product can be displayed at the Midwest Gaming Classic in the NA room. So be sure to stop by and check it out! I was hoping to have the game for sale before the event, but that is highly unlikely at this point. I hope to have some room to give visitors a nice feel of the game. This is my first time attending any Expo, so I don't really know what to expect at this point.

Thanks for the continued support from the team and the messages I receive outside the thread. It's been an awesome ride, but I'm finally down the homestretch!

I just saw this post and wanted to comment that there are definitely people out there who read these updates and are excited for this game. Heck, I created a nintendoage account a few months ago specifically because of your game. Excited to see the finished product!

You know I'm excited! And it is the home stretch, don't forget. This thing is like the Excertainment of homebrews, if the Excertainment was a tandem and came with cup holders. Sure, it'll require some added hardware, but man, it takes interactivity to a whole new level.

Be careful! If you ever run across my first post on NA, Study Hall thread, I said almost the same thing to KHAN Games! Now, I'm writing my own game. Haha

Thanks for the shout out! Happy to hear the Tailgate Party brought you to NA and I hope to have a copy in your hands soon. Most LE parts will be in soon. Hoping to have paper items around 3-4 weeks. Should have RE parts around the first part of April.

Sole Goose - It's too damn early to read what you wrote. Big words! Haha. Thanks man. Can't wait for some Spook-o'-tron Double Fisted Action!

Cool! Been looking forward to this for what feels like a very long time. I plan on showing this off to a few friends.

Are we allowed to hear what the picture 3 posts up is about?

I announced this on my Facebook page already, but I still need to post it here.

Tailgate Party was honored at Midwest Gaming Classic this past weekend for Best In Show, Best Mod Or Restoration. If the name sounds odd, that's because it is usually given out to Arcade Machines. This year, after seeing Tailgate Party, they decided that the modified use of the Power Pad was cool enough to give the award to an NES Homebrew. A very cool honor to say the least. As mentioned before, this award goes to everyone in the Homebrewing community, because without you guys and gals, this game would have never been. From the tutorials and to the support, thank you all for helping along the way. I should also thank my wife, family, and friends for putting up with this project the last 2 years.

Congrats Tim, well deserved!

Also, since you got the reward cup, now make sure to offer at least a cup of beer to Zi, to give credit for the amazing music provided for this game. Tailgate Party is a great, well done and fun NES game, and the high standard soundtracks from a very talented NES composer complete it awesomely.

A couple of quick updates.

Artwork for printed materials are finalized! If they haven't been sent to the printers already, they will in the next couple of days. After that, it will just be a waiting game until they arrive. Once these arrive, I will finish up the LE cart mods and we should be ready to go! Thanks to rizz for really making sure everything was perfect with these files. It took us awhile to pound out some of the minor details but the final products will be well worth it!

Speaking of LE's, I have been working on one last special thing for the a select few of the LEs (not all LEs will qualify for this feature). At first, I wasn't sure if I could pull it off, but after a few hours of reprogramming a few parts of the game, it looks like it is finally working. More details will be made available at the launch of the LE auction! I still need to do a full test of the feature.

Thanks for hanging in there everyone! It won't be much longer.

Awesome to hear! The home stretch is by far the most never ending it seems. Always one more tiny, minute, barely noticeable, minor detail that if you don't get just right you'll never sleep another night all the way through.

Look for the LE Auction in the next 1 - 2 weeks and the REs to be available shortly after. I have been told that printed materials should be here next week and additional boards were shipped today.

I have also been hard at work to add something extra special for those of you that choose to bid accordingly. The reaction from my dev team has been very positive with this over the past few days. I honestly feel, that if you so choose to spend the money, you will be very pleased with the result.

To participate in the LE auction, you must be a member of NintendoAge before the start of the auction! I will update this post as well as my Facebook page when the auction goes live! Just in time for summer!
