Yeah, I'm down. I finished last week at about 203lbs. Not a big drop from my start of 209lbs, but I noticed recently I moved a notch tighter on the belt.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

Round two, yay! I lost a total of 8-10 pounds since the first round, and my weight will probably be up tomorrow due to the pasta and other junk I had tonight for dinner. When this group was active and on the top page, I was posting in it just about every day or so; it is easier to stay motivated when there is someone to support you / share it with. I haven't given up yet, and tonight I had some sort of an epiphany I guess - I am tired of my (unhealthy) lifestyle that I am living at the moment, and I think that a few key elements (being more active, drinking less, getting more sleep, and ultimately losing weight) would do a lot for me.

I have another half marathon coming up at the end of May, though I haven't done much to prepare for it yet.

Quick question for those who know: I want to do some weight training, though I don't want to join a gym (if I have to travel 30 - 45 minutes to go to the gym, I won't make the time to work out, been there and done that...I just don't have enough free time to waste it on travel, when regarding something I feel lukewarm about doing). I have a few free weights (dumbbells). I only have a limited selection, but I can purchase larger weights when I need to increase. My question is, does anyone have a nice dumbbell workout for beginners? My upper body strength is lacking, and I just want something that is simple to figure out for a beginner (no fancy moves), yet something that can also give a beginner results after a few months of steady training.

I haven't been updating my progress, but I have been staying on track. I started at 175 and I'm down to 159. Now that I'm at the weight I want (155 is the big goal) I think I'll start using my EA Active 2 for Wii. We'll see if I can keep the weight down and get a little more tone.

Wow cool little thing going on here! Good to see people trying to get healthy and looks to be people are doing it. That is number one priority staying fit and feeling good about yourself. Awesome job everyone. Just keep at it and never, never give up. Don't let procrastination or negative self-talk stop you.

I don't need to lose weight, as I am where I need to be for my bodybuilding. I have been working out since 2004 when I was just 13. Never stopped since.
I do like to try out the goals though. I have done the others before, but not ever riding on a bike for 5 miles. Doing cardio on a bike is the toughest from my experience. Will try that out tomorrow.

I'd be in for a round 2, missed the first one though I wouldn't have kept up with it anyways to be honest! Need to rebuild some muscles and shed the weight!

I wasn't a part of this but I was at 205lbs at the beginning of the year and I now weigh in at 184lbs. At the beginning of 2014 I weighed 238 so altogether I've lost 54lbs in the last 15 months. I really wish I had some good before and after pics but I never really expected to have this kind of success.

Nicely done!  I've been on a fitness kick lately as well.  I've lost about 15 lbs over the last 2 months.  Mostly just been walking and some light stuff like pushups, squat lunges, and a little bit of weights.  I've stopped drinking pop, switched to tea and water.  I am also trying to eat about 500 less calories per day.  I weigh every morning.  Started at 219 and this morning was at 204 exactly.

Hey guys! Glad to see how well everyone is doing! So far I have lost 15 pounds over the past month or so and have kept on track pretty well. I'm not sure if it has been mentioned here yet or not, but a very useful free online tool called MyFitnessPal can be used to create a daily goal of calorie, fat, carb, etc. intake and then tracks everything that you eat. This has helped me quite a bit to know exactly what I am eating.

I used this a few years ago and it was very beneficial. Now I use the built in S Health on my Samsung Galaxy S5. It's pretty cool, it tracks your steps even when the app isnt open. The main goal is 10,000 steps per day but you can change your goals and it also has the food/calorie count and also things like monitoring stress levels and heart rate and you can log your workouts. It's pretty cool! I usee this for when were hiking, although just like every other app, it's hard to remember to log every single thing you eat, at least at first. Aftera hile you just get into the rhythm of things and it becomes natural. I'm excited for round 2!

Still no beer for me. That being said, I've been eating more, but still working out just about the same (with one personal training session per week). I can see some muscle tone at least...

Let's bump this one back up.

I've gotten serious about it again, and hope to lose about ten pounds within the next few months.

Last week my girlfriend and I went to the first of what will (hopefully) be many spinning classes, at a nearby gym. It is only a once-a-week offering, but that just means I'll have to do something to complement it.

On Sunday I made a big pot of vegetable soup, and it has turned out quite nice, getting better day by day. I've had it for both of my meals today, and have replaced one normal meal with the veggie soup on all of the other days thus far. I think tomorrow or Thursday I will run out, just in the time for a break on the weekend, but then you can bet that I'll make another batch for next week

I haven't been apart of this thread yet, but... I've been trying to make good on my New Years resolution to eat better, and hopefully as a by-product lose some wieght. I've lost 10 pounds this year so far. I've been kinda slacking the past 3 weeks but getting back to it. I'm surprised that I actually don't like backsliding to my old eating habits. Doesn't make me feel too well. If I screw up and get a double Whataburger and fries I don't let that totally throw me off. I usually will only eat minimally for the rest of that day and get back to eating right. I don't know that I feel healthier yet, but I do feel normal when I eat good and almost immediately feel like shit when I eat bad. Hopefully I can knock off another 10 the second half of the year.

I've also taken something from the Bill Burr podcast and fat-shaming myself a bit.  It's really a useful tool if you have the mental make-up to not let it actually hurt your emotions but use it as inspiration when you feel yourself about to make a bad choice.  Works great when I'm getting fastfood and I'm kinda like "F it I might as well..." then the fat-shaming comes in like, "You might as well what you fat fuck!? Keep eating shit so you can stay fat!?"  Helps me get the grilled chicken sandwich with no sauce and ditch one of the buns and not get fries and drink water.  Maybe a little twisted but it's working so far.
