Guess I will just have to mod my toaster Nintendo I thought this would have been such an easy solution and I waited since last December to get the AVS. The sad part I updated my RetroFreak, and the website is in Chinese so a few easy steps huh I guess the RetroFreak was way easier to update.

Are you trying to open the firmware file, or are you seeing that error when you are inside the scoreboard program and go to Transfer > Upgrade firmware ?

Try running the scoreboard program as administrator.

You dont do anything with the firmware file other than download it to your computer.

You don't need to do anything on your AVS other than connect the USB to your computer and power it on. You dont need the HDMI plugged in.

Once you do that open up the Scoreboard program on your computer and go to "Transfer" and "Upgrade firmware". A file select box will open up, this is where you select the firmware file you downloaded. Once you do that your AVS will update.

Okay, I updated it sorry for the confusion I misread or did not understand the simple instructions. To me, I thought you had to download the firmware and extract it, so I kept looking for the file to transfer it.

Can someone answer what changes firmware version 1.20 includes? Is their a directory that we have access to see all the versions and documents? All I see are direct download URLs.

1.20
   no changes

Seems like they just modified the last beta to show as the official 1.2.

Any updates on the revised edge connectors? Still a bummmer that some games aren't playable.

Thanks matty.

Tulpa, how in the world did you get that URL for connectors? I didn't get the memo. Figured it would have been mentioned on retrousb.com, facebook, twitter, etc...but I don't see any info posted about the connectors anywhere. But thank you for posting it.

It was in a thread in this forum, posted by RetroUSB support. I guess they wanted NA members to get first crack.

I updated my AVS from 1.10 to 1.20 final last night and I noticed audio crackling like people were reporting in the beta. I noticed it last night while playing Pac-Man; very faint crackling that would come & go. I popped in SMB next and I again got very fainting crackling or pop that would occasionally accompany certain sound effects. Finally, I popped in CV3 as I read the prior betas had issues with the US cart. No A/V problems that I could tell after playing 3 stages.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

I haven't noticed any audio issues with 1.20 version. Have you tried that one?

Whoops, meant to say 1.20 final. I got the scoreboard and firmware numbering mixed up in my post.

Did you try rolling back to an earlier beta?

Gave 1.3b2 a test because I was dying to check out H. Interpolation. Unfortunately it still seems a little buggy at this point; it resets to on every time I reset the game and doesn't really look any better than 1.2 at a non integer. I realize it's still early days though, so I'm looking forward to testing it again soon!

I am seeing an issue when using Powerpack on AVS 1.20 final.
AVS Game genie codes on any line other than the first are corrupted if you enter them, start the game, and return to the AVS game genie menu.

1.30b1 was not public. We knew it was broken.   New 1.30b2 is available now

Works fine here. What game(s) are you having trouble with?

Game Genie issue was a known problem. New 1.30b2 update should fix that.

I thought the fix was for the hotkey combo shortcut being corrupted for turning the codes on and off. Not the codes themselves.

I upgraded to 1.30b2 this morning and have been testing it. I can't really tell a difference with interpolation turned on. And I'm also having the issue where I will have it turned off and play my cart, then quit the game and go back to the AVS menu and it will have turned itself back on. It does it every time.

Other than that, I have not noticed any graphical glitches like I did with official 1.20. It seems to be fine so far for me.
