I'm new to NintendoAge but have been developing new NES games for almost 6 years.  I created a Kickstarter project for my latest game called Tower Defense 1990.  I'm trying to bring the game to a real cartridge.

In the game, the player builds towers that fire projectiles at waves of enemies.  The goal is to get through all the levels with at least one peasant surviving.

If you have any ideas for what to include in the game or how to improve it, please post.

I think it would probably make sense to encourage the discussion to migrate to this thread from the actual game developer, rather than the other way around...

The guy wants to promote his kickstarter link, and it will be a lot easier for him if people can find threads STARTED by him, rather than just threads he's posted in.

The gameplay video looks very interesting, but I think your graphics could use a bit of work. They evoke older DOS RPGs like the early Ultima games, and while they're functional, they're not very attention grabbing. Have you thought of reaching out to someone to help with sprite and tile art? It could make a huge difference in your campaign and create some more interest around the project. Not trying to be too critical, just trying to offer some constructive criticism. I'd love to see this project grow.



EDIT: Here's a little example - I did a quick redesign of your wraith. Maybe if you were to try a style like this it could be more visually appealing.

I've watched the video a few times now and thought about the game a lot. It seems like a decent idea; a slow starter but addicting. Haven't pulled the trigger yet but I likely will. Good luck!

Cool project! Very elegant to turn the "cursor" of a tower defense-type of game and turn it into a charming player character. A certain cupid did that on the SNES, but i wonder if this is a first on the NES? ^^

Oh and toma, that sprite sheet is really nice.

4/5ths of the way there on the KS! Music is coming along and I might have a preview up in a week (as long as I get the approval)!

Ah... I've been a huge fan of good TD games. Yes, the NES needs one.
