Haha... I just get a kick out of the fact that the ultimate in cutesy little girl fixations originates from a breed of work animal bred with the sole purpose of enslavement in coal mines.  (like they literally were left underground and stabled within the mine itself, and never saw the light of day)

I guess it's the same thing with most small breeds of dog, though.  They're mostly designed to wriggle down holes and drag out foxes and rabbits that have gone to ground.

Out of curiosity I went to Youtube and watched some scenes of that show, and I gotta say it was actually kinda funny. I didn't expect this.

I've been reading this topic for the past couple days and I finally took some time to check this show out. I watched the pilot episode, part 1 and 2, it was really enjoyable, very cute, very much like Power Puff Girls but not as crazy and it had meaning to it, like how old 80s cartoons used to have. Not sure if I'll watch anymore of it, I'm just not one for really watching much of anything long term, prefer something more interactive, hence video games, but ponies were likable, story was well written, and it has a fun atmosphere even though geared mostly towards a young girl audience. What always hits me when I watch something that I kinda enjoy I always think, this would make a great NES game!

I'm just glad I learned that lesson of the internet back in the days of shocking pictures (goatse, tubgirl, etc) so that I could keep my mind free of some of the more disgusting videos out there.

Even if meant as a joke, it got me to watch this show and I love it!. So far seen 5 episodes and will definitely be watching some more of them.

Love the episode where Applejack is overworking herself and she gets to the party that Pinkie Pie made in honor of her averting a stampede of cows, and she sees a trophy, looks into it and remarks how funny she looks in it and the starts making these silly faces and giggling stupidly and then dingbat Pinkie Pie because she's a dip, joins in on it because it looked like fun to her, I was laughing my butt off. And then later with the rabbit stampede, and seeing one of the ponies fall over and faint at the sight of them, I was choking with laughter. Also like in one of the other episodes where Pinkie Pie is looking for one of her friends to hang out with because she's bored and she picks Rainbow Dash, but she doesn't want to, so every time Pinkie comes near she flies away trying to get away from her, but Pinkie Pie always caught up and found her, but what was so funny is that it was kind of a parody, or homage to Pepe LePew because Pinkie while chasing after Rainbow Dash, was hopping after her the same way Pepe did to that poor cat in those old Looney Tunes cartoon. Pinkie Pie is my favorite, she's adorable and funny.

If I continue to enjoy this show I may have to make me a custom NES related pony sprite.
