Ok working on my collection list and I've got 4 different CIB Gradius.  Anyone have anything else to add?

Left to right in the pics.

1) Hang Tab Box, Black Seal, No REV-A, on the bottom of the back of the box there is NO "Made in Japan"

2) Same except it has "Made in Japan" on the bottom.

3) Non-Hang Tab Box, Black Seal, With REV-A

4) Non-hang Tab Box, White Seal, With REV-A

Anything else out there?

impressive, I didn't know there were two diff kinds of hangtab boxes

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!

Not different types of hangtabs... different wording on the boxes.

I've got a really rare box for Gradius actually.  It was the concept art used by Konomi for the U.S. release, but at the last moment they pulled it and went with another (similar) design.  I got this copy at a swap meet from the former marketing director at Konomi.  As a sample, this box was printed in black and white so unfortunately it isn't in color.  I paid top dollar for it but I think it was worth it.

Although it's similar to the commercial release, careful investigation can discern some significant differences between the two.  For instance, the jet isn't flying into some ship; the perspective is shifted to look more like it's flying into the red planet.  Also, the red planet is in the midground instead of the background.

Curiously enough, underneath the Nintendo Seal of Quality you can see "REV-A."

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.
