ArcadeMaster1 has been busy creating new SNES PCBs you can buy that are extremely versatile, you can run anything from a simple SWM hack all the way up to ExHiROM and even Star Ocean.

When the boards arrive this is how they come in the mail, with everything installed except for the EPROM(s) and battery, he does include the battery



Some of the features that stood out to me over other options on the market
Nice thick power traces


Each IC has its own power bypass cap


Traces routed by hand


Nice wide slots for the battery that I did not understand why they were so wide at first until I installed the battery and realized it was so the battery would sit flush on the board



These boards could not be simpler to install just program your EPROM(s) set a few jumpers and put the board in the SNES

This could not be better timed and the versatilely he's shown in his video is amazing. Especially with the Star Ocean compatibility.

Maybe he tells you the price in the video... I don't know because I haven't watched it. But what's the price? Think I bought about a dozen of his other boards.

I too have tried it and in my own opinion its the best pcb available

A few people have asked what programmer I have been using, they were having the same issue I had with my old Willem, any ICs that need an adapter just will not program correctly.

I upgraded to a Xeltek Superpro USB 610P and have never looked back, programs 27C322s perfect every time.

Just recieved a few of these boards a week ago. Finished building a Chrono Trigger CE the other day. Awesome Game, awesome board. What else to say, other then i'm looking forward to ordering a few more boards soon.

I'm pretty sure you can use TSOP adapters with these, just like any donor or new board.  It's not like they're coming with the chips.

This board supports 16bit DIP42 ROMs, the 8bit 29F series TSOPs are not supported. There is 1 TSOP chip on these boards this is the SRAM used for game saves.
These are the supported EPROMs

27C322 (32mbit – 4mByte) UV or OTP roms
27C160 (16mbit – 2mByte) UV or OTP roms
29F1615 (16mbit – 2mByte) This is a Flash rom.
27C800 (8mbit – 1mByte) UV or OTP roms (not to be confused with the 27c080 or 27c801)

Putting together a Star Ocean

Finally bought some PICs and got around to testing the multigame builds and they are working great.

What have you built so far??
Using Pic, I've only done a multi DonkeyKongCountry and Ancient Stone Tablets so far.

Final Fantasy 4,5,6 multi cart and Dragon Quest 1&2,3,5 Multi cart

I might do an AST later

AM1 is testing hit new boards right now and is looking for input about the batteries. He wants to know if people would like them with battery holder like in the picture below or the traditional batteries with the solder tabs.



My pcb can accommodate 2 battery types. The standard pc solder-legs we have used forever and (in the picture I sent) the pressure mount coin type battery - no solder tabs. So here's the deal... The battery holder is cheap -- like .23c from mouser here in the states... And the coin battery it uses is also cheap .. About .24c. (All are CR2032)
So battery and holder both are less than .50c together. The cheapest pc mount battery I've found has been about .44c but usually higher around .55c
Which would you (and general public) prefer?

It's obviously cheaper (for me) to not buy or mount holder on the manufacturing side.... But when you factor in the cheaper non-pc battery, it evens out.
And the batteries I'm referring to aren't the half-drained Chinese ones... These are fresh ones made by Panasonic sold by mouse here in the states.
For me personally.

I totally think cost effectiveness is the best way to go either way. I mean with either option you wont be changing the battery any time soon, they tend to last years.

really awesome stuff, can't wait for them to arrive!

biggest change between v1 and v2 is the included extra pic, which makes multi games even easier

also, I think arcademaster1 can't ship batteries over the ocean so I think the included battery is USA customers only

Hmmm since Retrostage is out of stock a lot, I was thinking of maybe picking some of these up, however I can't seem to view the "Instruction Manual"'s for the boards.. The link just brings me to cpanel login screen :-/

Edit: the 4-rom and No Save boards link to pdf's just fine.. only the Simple Save 2-rom board has a broken link .. I was able to drop customerservice an email and they immediately replied with the pdf in question attached!
