Too many things don't add up: all the BS he pulled with me, the fact that it's been listed and relisted four times now and no sales (bad ebay skills or not I know he would have been approached by tons of buyers who would have authenticated it and bought it if everything was legit), he has a new ebay username instead of reusing the original (which could just be a coincidence or another person stealing the pics and listing using a similar name to dupe people), his ebay listings have been terrible and even though he's been told to post board pics, username and date in the past (and sort of eventually did but the board pics had a different username) he didn't do it this time, his stories never added up when I asked about where he got the cart, he used a text service to reply to me instead of a direct text where you'd be able to authenticate the number, and as you can tell he has at minimal shown that he is willing to break ebay policy and pull shady stuff with a potential buyer.
I am glad I finally found one and can avoid this type of drama. I honestly hope it can be authenticated and it goes to a new home where it will be appreciated, but I'll also honestly say that even if I didn't have one now that I'd never try to buy this one unless I met in person and could authenticate and complete the transaction. Too much not adding up, too much risk, and I took the time to share my concerns because I don't want someone to get screwed on this one.
I'm sure we have members in RI. Maybe one can try to help out and see this thing in person if it is indeed real? And maybe if that's refused we'd have further evidence that buying this one is a bad idea.
I posted in a separate thread before realizing I should keep it going here. We can add #234 to the list of NWC carts. 100% verified, tested and operates properly. On the top of the cartridge the label was pulled away a bit but I pushed it down and it stuck back but I assume it will come back up…. The corners curl back a bit on the label ends in the same area. The label isn’t 100% straight and tilts to the right slightly. I have attached some pictures of the cart, board and related. I have verified the board against a few copies and all is well. There is also the initials “AM” and craved on the back of the cartridge. I purchased at an eBay auction. Seller didn’t know how they obtained it but assumes they had it at least 17 years stashed under the bed with a few other games. Hopefully one day we can trace back to the original owner. Cartridge was located in Johnston, Rhode Island.
