Oh shit, just had to be another fun game. My thumb is still red, swollen and numb from all that Marble Madness. And this just had to be another diagonal playing game. May have to wait another day or two before I tackle this one, hurts to push down on the d-pad. But I'm definitely in, once I'm able.

This is another game I've seen Randy and Kevin play. They will be good at this as well.

I'll give it a try. Just like Marble Madness, there is one level that always thwarts me.

Are we just going for highest score?

That's the usual assignment.

It would be hard to judge a fastest time mode, we would need a record of the whole game. Highest points is okay.

Do we allow warping? I'd say yes cause it would be (not) a good idea to score more points anyway, right?

I think you'd lose more than you'd gain warping, especially if you jump from 1 to 8.  There are a ton of points to be had if you play through each level.

As long as you play the game the way it was intended (i.e. not using abusive behavior), then I don't see the issue with warping.

Variation:     NTSC - Points   [Default]
Platform:    Nintendo Entertainment System
Rules:    Factory Default [No Continues]

Special Rules: Warping IS permitted at the loss of extra points available via the levels warped past.

Scores we have to beat:

588,100       Jeff Feasel
256,350     Patrick Scott Patterson
124,600     Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

Oh, those scores aren't too big and bad, last time I beat it, if I were to had entered it in Twin Galaxies I would've been second place.

01/28/08
beat it with 8 deaths/no continues used (had 3 lives left + all my continues), score 464.100

So, once I'm ready, I just need to top my last victory, and then again after that if I have to.

I've never played this before today. I'm not too crazy about it but I may give it more of a chance.

Only Jeff Feasel score is worth something to beat. I think he got decent record for points, fastest completion with warp and fastest completion without warp.

I'd say you'll do well Kevin, the controls are pretty much identical to Marble Madness.

Died in level 10 because I'm an idiot, definately could've done a good bit better.

Is there a time bonus for finishing levels faster, or are end-level points solely based on how many balls you've eaten?

No time bonus that I'm aware of.  You do get a bonus for the "balls" (of nibbly pibblies, according to the manual) that you've eaten.  Of course, not all of the levels have them, 6, 7, and 11 are devoid of them.

And it don't matter whether you use a continue, you get to keep your score and continue gaining points on your next continue, until you get a complete game over.

Oh, beat Snake Rattle 'n Roll for my 4th time ever just a few minutes ago. It was my first try back since khold requested I play the game back on the 16th of last month, I gave it a shot, I failed to beat it that day. But I beat today. I used 3 continues, don't know how many deaths, didn't have time to count 'em. Oh, and my score was 666.100. I'll post pics later.
