NFL Blitz is done. Not sure why, but I found this one to be a lot more difficult than the others. Still a lot of fun, though.

Thanks for writing. I apologize for the delay in responding to your email during this busy time of year.
In regard to your email, it is great to hear that you have found a copy of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. Perfect dark was a first person shooter game that was released in May of 2000. I personally enjoyed this game a lot during my mid-teen years since it allows for up to four players to play at one time. All the Perfect Dark cartridges were black.

I hope this information is what you are looking for.

Response I received from Nintendo customer support when I asked if they knew any thing about a black Perfect Dark cart.

Donald Duck : Goin' Quackers, one of my favorite N64 games, is 100% done. It has good graphics, a great gameplay and very fun bosses.

Nice, I always had a guilty pleasure for Disney games, especially on the SNES/N64.

Played some Gauntlet Legends today myself, got up to the the Ice World, and took a break after level 2. Ice Camp runestone blows. Lol.

Totally off topic but down here in southwestern Ontario we got our true first cold day. What has it been like in other places of the great white?

You think the weather's bad there? Here's Calgary this month:

http://www.accuweather.com/en/ca/...

Yes, you see that right...yesterday's high was -13, today's was 6, and tomorrow's is forecast at -13 again. WTF is that? Oh, and that doesn't even mention the foot of snow that fell yesterday that is already half melted.

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Nearly done with GoldenEye 007 on 00 Agent mode. I remember Bunker 2 being a bit tricky, but it was kicking my ass this time. Ended up going for the silenced PP7's from the safe a little earlier to keep quiet. All that extra noise from the KF7 just keeps spawning guards. Jungle was also a pain, but I think maybe was partially from my new tv. Visuals aren't quite as nice and crisp as they are on a CRT tv, so the green bodies seemed to blend into the green fog too well. First time playing through with a Rumble Pak, too. Got my first one only a few months back.  Will post again when I've completed Egypt.  Not looking forward to Aztec, though...

Blitz Special Edition is done.

I took a pic of the Super Bowl final this time, an exciting 24-17 overtime thriller.

The game is exactly the same as Blitz 2001, but with an updated roster. I also found it to be more glitchy than 2001, which is a rather glitchy game itself. All in all, it's the same Blitz we all know and love, but I wouldn't consider it the go to title for playing a football game.

Pokemon Puzzle League

I beat the game on Hard last year and I thought it was pretty easy. As it turns out, to truly beat the game, you have to clear it on Very Hard. Mewtwo challenges you after you beat Gary for the Puzzle League Championship, but only on Very Hard. Beating him gets you the "Master Trophy." Anyway, holy shit is this game tough on very hard! Everyone you face combos the hell out of you. They will usually rattle off a x4 chain right off the bat, and it only gets worse as you progress. To make matters worse, if you lose to Mewtwo, you have to go back and battle Gary AGAIN! He isn't exactly a cakewalk. I ended up using well over 100 continues (it stops counting at 99.) When I did finally beat Mewtwo, it was complete luck! I dropped one x4 combo on him and he just happened to have one pillar of blocks stacked almost to the top. For some reason, he didn't recover quickly enough and the match was over in 22 seconds. Anticlimactic, sure, but at least I finished the game finally. As I said last year, it's a pretty fun game with some VERY addictive gameplay, even if you aren't into Pokemon.

Virtual Chess 64

How the hell does a chess game suck this much? The controls are somehow god awful, the music sucks, and the 3D mode looks terrible. At least it's somewhat challenging to beat the computer. You can see from the screenshot that I had to take it down to the wire.

Not done yet! One more before I call it a night.

That takes care of the Blitz series. I think 2000 is overall the best one of the N64 group. It features everything great about the first game and polishes it off with more plays and features, plus refined controls. It also is the only one I've played that makes it so you can't just run the QB every play. I definitely consider Blitz 2000 the quintessential N64 football game.

shit dude, I remember clocking in the hours to this after my parents renting it for me growing up. I ended up getting the cart from the rental store after it closed down, only for my collection to be sold off by my parents in a yard sale without my knowledge. I need to get this cart again for some sweet pokepuzzlage.
