Actually as far as the gameplay goes, I like the concept that most of the enemies aren't one-hit-kill-em-all dummies (like Double Dragon and River City Ransom), but it gets really difficult really quickly. Fighting this type of enemy on platforms over bottomless pits is just nasty

I always thought on the cover he is coming at us with clenched fist as if to say, "get out of my way, I need to kick some eagles!" Yet it's quite ironic he is punching on the cover but does not punch in the game. False advertising or did the artist not bother to play the game?

My guess is the latter.  It's not the only time this happened though...look at Mega Man

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Wow, I feel kind of honored to be in your presence. Welcome to the site! King Neptune's Adventure if my favorite Color Dreams game, so much in fact that I made these displays, the shadow box even has some of Nina's ink sketches that were used for the manual.

That's awesome King Neptune is your favorite Color Dreams game. I haven't played it in 20 years, but I just bought a copy off ebay and will be playing it soon!

Little side note, I am credited as "Miles O' the Forest" on the title screen because I thought Miles was a cool name and I had been joking about changing my name to Miles Deforest. Nina decided to use that and play with the spelling to fit some kind of Renaissance theme. Now you know the true story!

Wow, welcome to the site!

So if Roger gets back into creating NES games...would that technically be a homebrew or unlicensed game?

I damn near had a seizure when I played King Neptune's Adventure.

Did you do any work on Spiritual Warfare or Crystal Mines? Those are probably my favorites of the CD line.

I don't know how I missed this thread, but I just want to wish you a warm welcome to the site! I'm fairly certain you just gained a few thousand new best friends I can't wait to hear your interview, and if you ever just want to write a "reminisce about old times in the NES biz" article, we'd LOVE to read it!

I remember seeing the promotional materials for that game floating around the office, but I never played it. I will see if I can find out for you. Thanks.

Roger, why do you have to push A + start to begin the game??

I think that was left over from the code I was using. I just left it that way. I'm sure there's a story there somewhere, but think how much more interesting the game is with that unique way to start!
