This is just me starting up a thread for what I'm about to find through yard sales and flea markets in Baltimore. Vintage stuff is definitely drying up, but I still find stuff occasionally. Case in point, the following items from this weekend:

I find that there's far less competition in the actual city. Around the beltway, though it can be pretty brutal.

Sure, I'll let you know! The backs are pretty scuffed, so I def need to test them first.

Been a while since I've posted anything here, mainly because hunting in Baltimore has been scarce, but here's a quick rundown of the past few months:

$20 from a nearby collector who was downsizing:

$30 for a weird lot including some PAL games:

$40. Love me that ActRaiser.

$50 Friday yard sale find.

$60 from a gamer downsizing for a move:

$10, mainly to rescue it from going in the trash.

$10, yay for Sega CD

A $60 flea market find. Good lord, I never find anything there but I guess I had to get luck eventually.

Been a lot of Losers Weepers, too, but at least I'm still finding stuff.

I've had a lot of good finds since I started 4 or 5 years ago and I think there's a lot of stuff out here on the coast, but hoo boy there's also a LOT of competition.

North Point is good sometimes, but I got the lot in question at the Essex Flea Market nearby. There's another smaller one called Diamond Point; I don't think it's picked over yet.

Woo! Had a nice retro find today! I was checking out a sale that mentioned Wii U stuff (that's where the Epic Mickey 2 came from) and spotted a nearby sale. I asked about video games and they brought all of these out. Very excited about DwD, as I love the show and the game. Everything else is available except for the box for Nintendo Soccer and Crash Bash.

The Goodwill near me finally paid off! They don't price check and tend to keep the games on a bookshelf behind the main counter, so occasionally there's some really good there. Grabbed everything in the pic below for about $60.

So nice!  The goodwill by me rarely puts anything out.  I talked to one of the guys there and he said they had tons of cartridge games that were donated, but they don't put them on the shelves anymore and are supposed to send them somewhere probably shopatgoodwill.

Yeah, we're lucky that they don't do that in Maryland yet. Whenever I travel I never really bother going to Goodwills for exactly that reason.

Had some really fun finds this past weekend! On Saturday I went out with a fellow gamer and we found a nice big lot of Gamecube, PS2, and XBox games. He's still working on his collection so he grabbed most of the Nintendo stuff, but I got a nice stack of PS2 and XBox stuff for $20, including .hack// Infection which I've been after. Later we stopped at Goodwill and I found a copy of Hey! Pikmin for $6, which I'm VERY happy about.

On Sunday I stopped by a fairly regular neighborhood sale where I knew there was a guy who's been selling off his old collection for a little less than eBay prices. I grabbed KI: Gold and an untested NES w/o cords for $13, then was pleasantly surprised to find out his neighbor was bringing out some stuff, too. It was the first time I've ever seen Super Famicom and NeoGeo Pocket Color stuff in the wild so I made sure to grab that plus a few other interesting looking games and a Game and Watch. I'm quite happy to have a legit copy of Metal Max Returns, that game is amazing.

The Game Boy games, the NGPC games, the Super Famicom games, and the Game & Watch all together were $35. Didn't really get a chance to individually price stuff as I had to break away during the pricing process to chase down my toddler.

Been a long time since posting, but had a pretty insane find last week. I was walking the dog on Friday and upon turning a corner spotted a black crate on the ground. I looked inside and lo and behold it was full of NES games. I looked around for an owner and knocked on a few doors to see if it belonged to anyone, but no one claimed it. I ended up bringing it home (beyond wanting to keep it the forecast called for rain) and putting up a Lost & Found ad for it, but the only response I got was from a homeowner nearby saying it had just showed up mid-afternoon. So at this point it's looking like a free bunch of NES games for me!

Those are always nice and you did your part by checking that it was not just left by mistake

Ah, so you found the secret room, eh? Bask in the glory of a Mario Trilogy, a Pair of Zeldas and a Sextet of Megamans. Yes this is the little grey box that could and continues to do. What lies ahead is entirely up to you. YOU DECIDE

Yeah, short of going door-to-door down the block asking each person if they'd left it I'm not sure what else I could have done.
