Anyone else find it strange how "Cheetahmen 2" is labelled with "Glitches"?

Great list by the way.

ok, it's more glitchy than normal, haha... if you have a ROM that works as glitchy as the original, tell me to take out of the list.

Nice update. Can you also add a note to the Crystalis listing that the latest round of beta mappers appears to fix the Crystalis glitches?

done!

Remember, contributions of any kind relevant to the Powerpak are highly encouraged. I guess the SNES Powerpak doesn't need an incompatibility list, as Retrozone already has one. But recommendations for both Powerpaks are welcome, and the thread title will be changed accordingly.

I wouldn't say all the games are listed for the SNES PowerPak. I ran into a couple of Super Famicom games that don't work.

hmmmhmmm, interesting. If someone feels like making a list for it, we can put it here to make the ultimate Powerpak thread! Obviously, with proper credit and all...

You said Cheetahmen 2 doesn't work on the powerpak due to glitches...isn't that how the game is originally? lol

Check out this really awesome WTB thread that I found, I heard this guy wants games at the cheapest rate possible!  Now on the look out for Unlicensed NES!

^^I don't remember the specifics, but I remember it ran, and the cheetahman sprite didn't look like it should (like in youtube, I mean), or something along the lines (glitched graphics beyong "normal" for this game).

What is the status of Karnov and Crystalis for the powerpak? Are they playable? I'm about to order one. Just curious.
Thanks for all the information.

Crystalis works, Karnov doesn't (it runs, but it's too glitchy to be enjoyable). The thing with Crystalis is that for some people it had severe glitches, and for some it didn't (even with same mappers and same rom). The last beta version mappers seems to have solved this, for the original person that reported it. In my powerpak it has always worked.

Is there a list of compatible cf cards anywhere and what is the max card size?

I just added a link to nesworld.com, which has an early review of the powerpak, along with a very short compatibility and incompatibility list for CF cards. Specifically, the card I have has no brand, just a white and blue sticker, with no reference of brand or even company where it was made.

This is the link, which also is in the first post now.

LICENSED GAMES THAT DON'T WORK
Cybernoid - The Fighting Machine

This one is almost certainly the game, not the PowerPak.  It uses the $0D color (blacker than black) so it will screw up many (most?) non CRT TVs.  Anyone who sees graphics problems on the PowerPak should check the authentic cart, it will likely have the same problems.

Actually I think it's a weird bus conflict issue. When initializing music it writes to $D418 (possibly left over from C64 SID initialization when the music was ported over), causing bankswitch to occur. For some reason this apparently doesn't screw the game up on the actual cart though.

Of course there's no easy to way to fix this. It's easy to patch the ROM though, in case somebody wants to do it just set a memory write breakpoint at $D418 in FCEUX/Nintendulator to pinpoint the place.

Gemfire (MMC5)
Hot Slot (Graphic Glitches)
Karnov (Graphic Glitches)
Laser Invasion (MMC5)
L'Empereur (MMC5)
M.C. Kids (Graphic Glitches)
Maxi-15 (Graphic Glitches)
Nobunaga's Ambition II (MMC5)

I assure you that Star Wars works, and I think Wario Woods too (that's the one you're refering to right?). I have to double check Baseball Stars 2, Frontline, Fire Hawk and Hot Slot. I'm almost sure that MC Kids works too.

Opps! yes Wario Woods. I tried multiple versions of these roms with the same results. Let me know what you find. The more working the better!

Hot Slots doesn't work for me either (glitchy), I'll add it to the list unless someone reports it as working. Wario Woods, MC Kids and Frontline work perfectly. Maxi-15 works too. I forgot about baseball stars 2 and Fire Hawk.

Interesting about Wario Woods, MC Kids and Frontline. I will have to look into other roms I guess. Do you know which ones you are using (i.e. (U) !, (U) [f], etc.)??
