Gave them a 6. I know quite a few of their songs and even sing along to them. I probably own a record or cassette of their music actually...lol.
I consider this true in general, but for ABBA in particular you can't really do them justice with just the audio alone. With my music I always have to have the video part too
Unless it's a song I really care about, I find the music videos distract from the actual song. I like listening audio only so I can really hear the music...listen to the lyrics, see what the meaning of the song is. Some songs are simple with obvious meanings...others are complex with hidden meanings, but people tend to see what they want to see/hear what they want to hear...so I make a guess as to what the meaning is, then see what the original artist has to say about the meaning.
But I'm weird about music. I can listen to the same song endlessly.
Well, I really do feel like I'm there when I watch their live performance stuff...you can really feel the energy and fun they put into it...not like today where far too many "artists" today resort to lip synching fake auto-tune music
As for the same song endlessly...seriously their Pick a Bale of Cotton and Midnight Special (the middle On Top of Ol' Smokey is alright but doesn't fit the other two) is honest to goodness like crack cocaine to me. It's too bad they just missed the late 60s/early 70s variety show era because one called ABBA's Midnight Special with it as the theme song would've been
perfect.
