Here is the moment everyone anxiously waited for, the Final Round of the NA Summer Tournament!!! (Applause)

This Final will be decided on the Frontier of one of the most exotic U.S. States : Hawaii. This is the story of a man, Master Higgins, a high regarded Hawaiian that likes to hang around on the beach shirtless with his love, the beautiful Princess Leinani. Sadly, their lives took a desperate turn when the Evil Witch Doctor kidnapped the Princess and taken her to his homeland, the Adventure Island, located in a hidden Northern part of the South Pacific Ocean. To save the love of his life, Master Higgins will need to go through dangerous forests, risky mountains and dark caves. My question is rather simple : Are you a bad enough dude to make that happens?

If you dare to accept this challenge, here's the rules you'll need to follow :

• Play until Game Over
• Highest score wins

The contest ends Sunday, 7/27/14 at 11 PM NA time (we gotta play catch-up to stay on schedule for the second half).  Your user name MUST be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

I have played Adventure Island II quite a bit, but never played this one long. Because there are no dinosaurs. But I am excited because it will have a similar play style. GAME ON

YES! It's a long time since I played this, and it's a game I actually like.
I hope I'll find a way to play it later this week since I'm going to California this Wednesday (which also means that I'll spend 11 hours in a plane... Yay!)

I thought about sitting out this tournament and after seeing the 3 games that were picked I probably should have as I hate Joust and don't like Adventure Island. I like RC Pro Am but suck at it as well as the other 2 tournament selections. Had I known these games would get picked,I would have let someone else have a chance since I essentially had none.

Never played this outside of testing the cart when I got it. Constantly mashing the B button is killing my arm but I keep getting further so once more unto the breach!

all i can say is this is also going to be a REALLY fun one

i LOVE platformers, and on my first go-around, i didnt do horrible (well...i didnt do good either) and can see myself getting better and better

So I wouldn't say this game fully suffers from "Gradius-syndrome", but there are definitely some unfavorable places to die...

Update Tier 2- 172,970. This game can be frustrating but great for a speed runner lol. Not a huge fan of this one either (even when we played it once in the regular competition awhile back). There's alot of "death traps" so to speak (level 1-3 with that one 2nd egg with in the ice portion, don't grab it).  I know this probably won't make top 3 so I'll just have to torture myself later on in the week playing it. I think I finally crapped the bed around 3-2 or so.

Aw man. I totally forgot about R.C. Pro Am last week. My house has redwood siding and I've been power washing, hand scrubbing and staining it all week and was just beat and forgot. Good luck guys!

I love this game, wish I could have made it to the finals.  Too bad I stunk at Joust, and even if I had made it to the second round, I absolutely loathe R.C. Pro-Am

I've got all the prizes for the tournament, which I'm hoping to get pictures posted soon.  I wasn't satisfied with the prizes I had left in the prize box, so I went out and got a few more and also dipped into my stash of doubles.  I think it will be a fun set of games up for grabs   Also, I got new internet while I was away at Paul's and it has been a giant headache so far.  I had to move a ton of stuff in my house for the guys to do the installation, so I may not get the pictures up for a couple days until I get things back in order.  For now, I will give you a few teasers

• One of the prizes is mega fun.
