Rome was not built in a day. Nor was it dismantled brick by brick, completely analyzed and then rebuilt using modern materials in a day either.

Not that I have much more to say since I'm not working towards this goal as awesome as it'd be, but I'm sure due to the nature of fanatacism, everyone and their thrice-removed 2nd cousin's boy-scout's-leader's daugher's unapproved boyfriend who only plays the latest madden will know when it comes out.  And that pour soul who releases a cart will then be chained to their soldering table until the end of times.

But alas, sorry for the troll, I'll cage him up for then next 2 years lol

Maybe you should do a run and see how much work it entails and the little thanks you get.

And for clarity, which side of the fence are you on for hacks and repros? One day you're all "it's illegal, you guys are unethical douchebags" and the next it's "it should have a proper release". Pick a side and stick with it.

How would this work without getting a bunch of the chinese hack boards?

After I'm done with ancient stone tablets I could do an unlimited run of these. For a non-inflated price of course. Tomorrow is my last day of work woohoo!!!!!!

You could design your own pcbs. It is a bit more effort, but you'll be able to go beyond the current limits. I wonder if the INL boards would be compatible, or easily modified to get it to work. I'm not up on the NES repros and such, but if there's a will, there's a way

It actually wouldn't be that hard. Just find the chip sizes you need and trace them for the cart slot pinouts, and copy the other chips from boards that use CHR RAM if need be and SRAM. And of course the lockout chip

I know a member or 2 on here that use EagleView or EagleCad to make the GERBER files for the companies to use.

Haha! I would if I had the free time, though I'm not sure I would be the right man for it I've never messed around with the software much.

Not really.  It's warez plain and simple.  I never said I didn't support warez, but I just don't like it being called reproductions as a cover story.  I've got a few bootlegs for NES, SNES and GBA.  Personally I don't like hacks as I don't enjoy playing them, but bootlegs (repros) they can be fun as I have a few.  As far as do it myself, if I had the know how and parts I think that would be pretty fun knowing going into it that it's mostly thankless as it is what it is.  With this one you're swiping a bootleg 2D ripoff of a 3D Square game to re-warez it as a US cart if it happened.

If you did a repro run of this I'd buy multiple copies.

If I could get an original I have a buddy who could reverse engineer it, I'm sure. And I'm getting into making repro's a tiny bit too. Two problems though: my buddy's super busy and the cost to make custom boards. It wouldn't be worth it after paying him, for the original cart, and making a run. I'd have to charge too much.

If parts or hardware were holding this back, I'd front some money to get these made.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.
