If the topic has been discussed, please lock, but I just found this out on Nintendo's Facebook a few minutes ago (They just posted it)

"Now you’re playing with super power! Play 21 Super NES hits, including the previously unreleased Star Fox 2, when the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition launches September 29!"

I'm pretty excited... but I wonder how these will go as far as availibility... Discuss!

Well, we all saw this coming. If you think the NES Classic was scalped, just wait until this one hits. I hope they ramp up production this time but I wouldn't be too optimistic.

Either way I'm in for one, and kudos to them for putting an unreleased game on there too. Going to drive the hype even higher!

If true, I'm surprised I haven't heard more about this. I know there was rumor and speculation. More than likely it will be impossible to find if it releases and it's not worth my time even caring. Shame. Could be cool.

Weren't there pre-orders for the NES Classic?  I remember just thinking I'd just go pick one up in store day one.  Stupid me thinking Nintendo wanted me to give them money.

That's really solid.  Mario, Zelda, Metroid so the big 3 SNES are covered.  Soft on the RPGs (No Chrono?) but EB and FFIII are two of the biggest ones, not withstanding Mario RPG.

Really solid lineup and covers the main populars on SNES.

Very cool. However, same rules apply to me as with the NES Classic. I refuse to camp out in front of a store, and I refuse to pay more than MSRP for one. If I can pick it up in store, than I will happily buy one. I'm curious how many Nintendo plans to make.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Looks like newer ports this time around. No classic-controller style, just the smaller version of the SNES's ports it seems.

Also, not to think negatively, but I'm wondering how they'll go about tackling that inevitable piracy this time around...

Enough so that every store receives 5 every couple of months.  2 million sold, shut down production baby!

Solid game choices, wish it had Chrono but I can't complaint as it has FF3 & Secret of Mana, I might get one for convenience.

Ouu, maybe they'll release the earthbound guide on PDF for your phone, like the nes manuals. That'd be handy

Haha true. Frankly, if I buy one it'll be purely for collecting's sake. I have the NES Classic modded with all NES games... I mean maybe I'd do the same with the SNES Classic (I hereby coin the term "SNESsic") for SNES games, but... I dunno... I JUST picked up like $3000 of SNES games... lol.

Complete with scratch and sniff! Scratch your phone, then smell your tears at the realization of what you've just done!

I'm only surprised that "EARTHBOUND" wasn't stamped on the front of the box in big bold letters. No Metroid either? Apparently they think that F-Zero is a bigger selling point and worthy of front page space.

I love nintendo, I love the Switch, but fuck these miniconsoles that are thought from the start to be in limited supplies. Thank god for flashcarts that are always available.
