This is probably an issue with the game itself being buggy. I've been seeing threads on other forums about the game freezing on the NES.

That is interesting that one guy says the game will unfreeze if you let it sit long enough.

Hah, I was bored at work, and saw this thread again. So I decided to play Commando through one of those online "Play NES in your browser" sites.

COMMANDO FROZE UP ON ME!

I've never had that happen with any other game played in a browser. I think it's just destined to glitch out at some point.
